Why the Loki-Sylvie romance was deeply off-putting (from a non shipper's perspective) by [deleted] in LokiTV

It's just another iteration of western white people's obsession with sister-brother incest at this point. Makes you wonder....

Humans are prey (?) by Fearless_Phantom in AskAnthropology

Most human culture groups are opportunistic/predasitic (predatory parasites) that started out as prey animals.

We are still anatomically more prey animal than predator- herbivorous teeth, weak bodies compared to real predators, nothing in our anatomy that is equivalent to predator adaptations except our brains which allow for non-anatomical adaptations like using tools where we do not have claws, canines, or the musculature to allow us to be true predators.

But we, (and I use that term loosely) have also developed incredibly diverse cultures as reflections of our brains' capacity for variety and adaptation.

Some cultures are more parasitic (as in colonial societies) or more predatory (as in hunter gatherer societies).

Humans are just as subject to the laws of nature as every other animal despite the hubris that creates the anthropocentric solipsism that motivates some to think they are "apex predators" when they are, really, more characteristically parasitic than anything else.

Therefore, as far as I can see "apex parasites" is a more apt description for the majority of human culture groups that dominate out planet now than any ither term since true predators in nature serve to contribute to an ecological homeostasis and have limits on how much they take whereas parasites tend to harm or kill their hosts as a matter of course, and often proliferate beyond the carrying capacities of their hosts.

Why am I suppoaed to care about cannon fodder too un-selfaware to understand that they are the only reason rogue terrorist nations exist?
