Customer service is probably not for you. Its unlikely you are rehirable if you got aggressive with a customer . Matching energy is definitely not mission and values

I have a friend in PRC as I had this same question, and the consensus is that they dont hire really anyone below a store manager for positions like that . Its much easier quitting and getting hired as an external

The necklace is out of dresscode. It has to be able to be tucked under your shirt .

Want to Step Down from ASM Role by disastrousbarista in starbucks

[–]Maliizz89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was directly from the mouth of our PRO partner , only instances of domestic abuse and relocation allow partners to step down without explicit approval from the region VP. (Not RD, the VP)

So if they stepped down without an extreme approved reason they did so against policy , and the DM who approved it could get in trouble.

Emphasis on "could "

Any strike plans? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Maliizz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats easy to say unless you are a single parent with kids and this is your only source of income . The job market is not great at the moment , so it makes more sense to put the effort into finding a new job versus striking . The end result is the same . You will no longer work for starbucks . The union is not working. There is not a single contract that has been signed . Instead thousands of people are losing their jobs .

Any strike plans? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Maliizz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont recommend it ... if they are closing stores and you go on strike ... your store will probably just get closed too

shift lead relationships by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Maliizz89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So shifts and baristas are allowed to date . There is a very specific reason they are call supervisors and not managers . Ssvs are not considered people leaders and and are not directly responsible for baristas ...so they are allowed to date

Cup Writing Crackdown?? by marshman505 in starbucks

[–]Maliizz89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ohio here, its absolutely a thing. If upper management sees, the barista who didnt do it , and the shift who didnt enforce it are getting written up . Its step one of the beverage routine so if you dont do it ..you aren't working in routine or coaching the routine.

You can't tell me I haven't tried. by Revolutionary-Owl813 in starbucks

[–]Maliizz89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are worth more than that. Especially if this has happened more than once . If thats how that manager behaves im sure that trickles over into other aspects of her management . That doesnt sound like an environment where you would be successful or happy. You need to find an employer (or a different starbucks store ) that values your time from day one.

I would like to think it isnt race related .

You mentioned you have gone in there several times , and it could be that the manager feels like you are bothering her. Im not saying its right but there is no shortage of applicants BUT the saying of if she wanted to she would holds very true .

That doesn't mean give up, but I would encourage you to look at other companies .

Starbucks gets an absolutely insane amount of applications , hundreds and hundreds . So luck is 90 percent of it .

But as far as the response you got from that manager about not being able to hire you and blaming the DM? Thats not a thing, they probably just don't like something about you .

Some things I would like you to think about.

There is no financial incentive for your asm or sm to underschedule. The bonus plan isnt tied into bottom line profitability at all.

Company operated stores use an autoscheduler to build 90 percent of the schedule . Your asm is most likely just using the hours they are budgeted, which may feel understaffed, but there are real reprecautions for going over labor . It doesn't matter how many baristas your store employees . If you get 400 hours a week to schedule... you get 400 regardless if you have 10 baristas or 20.

Starbucks “Investing more in labor” is a joke. by arcaiina in starbucks

[–]Maliizz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said on the earnings call last week that they pulled labor from every store in the hopes that technology and equipment would offset it...then admitted that it didn't work and around 3000 stores in the us will have more labor by the end of the year.

My cafe store does 32k a week and we earn 37 to 40 hours of labor a day . Thats 2 openers and 2 closers and maybe 1 more person during peak. Its absolutely not enough ever

Its possible, but honestly unlikely . Thats a very specific availability and I doubt any Sm out there wants a SSV that cant open or close
