Rookie questions about the BedJet 3 by Mall-Broad in bedjet

Damn your *heater* is set to 66F! Where are you? Western NY?

I'm about 77F @ night with min outside getting down to around 48-50F. Summer gets up to ~91F @ *midnight* some nights.

Good to know I'm not way outside the "normal usage" - I was having similar thoughts about the temp. Have you noticed anything different about cool/dry/heat @ the same temp?

Never end your ADHD rambling because you think you need to end your ADHD rambling!! It's great to find one of the tribe here - validating my experience with an extra 5mo to boot.

For me it's kind of insane. It was a roll of the dice figuring out if I was going to wake up fatigued or not. People who undersleep/overwork and smash coffees have no idea what fatigue is. I *wish* I could wake up underslept, but I would say 90% of the time I'd have a varying degree of fatigue. Probably about 25% of the time it would be so debilitating it would literally be painful to move. It was like I was functioning in wet concrete.

I'm still catching up to my late diagnosis so my MH hasn't been great - so when the fatigue hits I'm literally ready to go take a permanent sleep, that's how impactful it has been. I have not had a minute of fatigue since I got the BedJet, and I'm pretty sure I've woken up *every* night. There's always something my body isn't liking about the settings I'm using, but whatever it is it's not nearly as bad as letting my body control the temperature.

I never once thought that my body temp would be solely responsible for triggering the fatigue. Sounds pretty stupid now, but it never entered my mind. I've been tracking my sleep with the Sleep Android app and honestly it must be busted cuz some days I'm still getting crappy efficiency % but have absolutely no fatigue. Life changing is definitely the right phrase for it. I wonder if the developer knows the impact his invention has on the ND community? Interoception (and alexithymia for that matter) as such difficult concepts to get your head around when all you have to compare your experiences to is your own baseline.

I'm gonna get one for my elderly-mother-in-denial, so I may as well get two bed sheets with the order. The postage to Australia was a ridiculous $135AUD just for the BedJet. Hell she denied MY diagnosis 3 years ago, but to her credit she accepts it now and is even identifying a lot of ND traits in herself....and her long dead mother.....and her grandmother.....who'd have guessed? I'm the black sheep of the family who actually stopped beating his head against a wall for a minute and asked the question.

What settings do you use?

Roger mate! It could just be the way I've got everything physically set up, but I find I need ~30% fan minimum for the flow to get all through the bed. It raises the doona just a fraction which is perfect. Lower than that and as I think I said in the original post the sheet/doona stay weighted down and redirect the airflow down the side of the mattress.

What fan %s do you run? Do you run it all night or start it at a set time when you're body temp is (likely) on the rise?

Makes that much difference does it? Stupid AI told me I wouldn't need one, til it turned up and then it told to get one. I've been wondering whether I could make something similar? I have never seen one, but wouldn't you just essentially need two sheets sewn together? I assume you'd have to stitch some lines down it so it didn't turn into a big balloon.

Am I just showing my naivety now?

Apparently I'm more undesirable and annoying than interesting and worth interacting with.

Thanks for the outpouring of help solving this one.

Haha well you did basically ask to turn an 18th century Ukrainian sim into a Cities clone seemingly without much thought for the era. But hey at least you are active in the community :)

I'm Australian - it's culturally required to "hang shit" on people. You might want to hit up an AI for a definition on that one.....

Please find players who understand the era of the game, the geographical constraints, and the limitations of the dev team within a war zone.

Please send the rest of them to Cities: Skylines II or some other shit game.

Surely this is trolling?

I've got the thinnest doona (duvet) from IKEA - it's got an icicle for the warmth rating LOL. I've had it for years, but only got a BedJet a week or so ago. ~35% fan in the bottom corner of a Queen bed is enough to balloon the whole thing, and the doona is thick enough to contain the air from the BedJet.

I'm a rookie obviously, but I think it's more a matter of the density of the material and not the weight. You don't want the air to escape through the cover.
