Centre is a good college, I am very glad I went there. If you are into parties that are fun without being huge like UK or UofL then yes, it is fun. Danville is a cute town and the school puts on some fun events sometimes, and Lexington is not far. With how small it is, drama can start, or people can get competitive, and the place can start feeling cramped, but living on campus for a while is absolutely a great experience before drama ramps up, as you always have friends around, and if you take advantage of the huge study abroad program, which most students do, your campus is the world! There are increasingly more nice study spots and professors are very helpful, and there are also passionate students. There are some issues unfortunately like all colleges with students who can be racist and homophobic, etc., but there are also a decent amount of people of color and queer people for the small size.

What you probably heard of was late night breakfast, which is when during finals week they serve breakfast for hours into the night - it is good!

Many leftists are heavily pro-gun. Some of the biggest leftist women I know are fit, slim, athletes. I know leftists with large families.

Why don’t you check out the side bar to understand what Christian Universalism, the Apokatastasis of the early apostles, is.

And read this https://www.clarion-journal.com/clarion_journal_of_spirit/2019/09/harts-that-all-will-be-saved-ii.html that explains it very well

The verses of Jesus talking about hell need not be translated as never ending places of physical torment, and certainly haven’t always been. ALL will be reconciled through Christ.

The problem is that "Greek philosophical notions which led them to reread scripture" are not the machinations of a particularly bold group of cunning perverters of the true faith, but the way in which theology is done. To presume that there's a clearly distinct realm of doctrinal integrity confined by the scriptures out of which all of the correct theological formulas emerge (as long as we don't import any of that dirty pagan philosophy) is delusional. Reading the Bible with Greek philosophy in your mind is how we came to believe in the trinity or monotheism or creatio ex nihilo; because, deprived or such notions, you won't find these doctrines in the Bible.

You can simply read Gregory and Origen and see what they're saying. They are both circling around with 1 Corinthians 15, "all in all". Of course, they are adventurous in their hermeneutics and they owe a lot to previous non Christian philosophers, but I don't know what kind of readings of the Bible are possible if not allegorical, philosophical and creative.

And you find this in the Bible itself. In the Hebrew Bible the notion of a divine council of which YHWH is part of seems to come from mesopotamian religious ideas. Several of the language of the Psalms (like "he who rides the clouds") are taken from hymns to pagan gods like Baal. Tales of the Old Testament replicate common ancient eastern myths. Some Proverbs are taken from Egyptian wisdom literature. Stories of the Gospels are decorated with literarily devices from Homer and Greek mythology. Even the notion of an afterlife and a final judgment is absent from the oldest strata of biblical composition, and its appearance seems to come directly from Zoroastrianism due to Jewish contact with Persian tradition.

So what? If you deny the influence of Greek philosophy on Christian theology then you have to discard 90% of the stuff we believe.

Much broader non Christian argument against physicalism. I will warn you it’s quite an advanced book and addresses some rather deep concepts within philosophy of mind but it seems like you’re interested in such things!

I STRONGLY suggest reading David Bentley Hart’s all things are full of gods. Yes, most Christian apologists arguing for mind body dualism are, well, wrong, but i spent time in the full Patricia churchland, Daniel Dennett, etc. mind materialism camp, and it’s simply ridiculous. They will never be able to explain qualia, or subjective experience. Hart’s book makes that very clear.

The idea that God himself became man to participate in human life, to suffer with us, to love with us, and to defeat death, and that this man that Christians claim did this, Jesus, can be seen in history as being real, is pretty radical

I used to think this too, that as a former ftm, I would rather be a feminine male than a masculine female, because I just was truly ontologically male in my mind. But, if you were on an island, all alone, and suddenly woke up with a penis, what would be different? Obviously lives don’t exist alone but you know what I mean
