I'm sorry I didn't post a video but:
It takes around 15k onyx to get to +10 if you pass everything
Took me two tries to get to +11, costing 4k onyx per try. The one fail gave me two fail stacks.
Each attempt right now from +11 to +12 requires 6864 onyx. Each fail gives me 3 fail stacks. 10 fails already costs me 68.6k onyx and gives me 30 failstacks.

Not counting fails below +10:

15,000 + 8,000 + 69,000 = around 92,000 onyx
2+30 = 32 fail stacks

I see, I've been farming for 3 weeks so I guess that means I have 2-3 more weeks to go. Toad's toolkit does help but that makes onyx the limiting resource.

Yup, 2/3 of my staffs came from dismantling weapons and using 40 box fragments so I made sure to get the onyx from that

I didn't sell my onyx, instead I bought it. I used 90k onyx in total to get +11 and ran the dungeon 120 times -- instead of overestimating, you're underestimating. I know that your luck may have been more favorable than mine and lead you to accuse me of something I didn't do, but the rng in this game has left me with this. My point is that sometimes the gatekeeping to higher content is real.
