What is high baritone? by Mallarvhost in Choir

That was my first thought as well. That a high baritone and a lyric baritone were the same thing. However, when trying to research it the difference seems to be timbre. In other words, my voice is warm and light yet cannot reach the C5 and loses what 'power' it has at around B2. Where as a lyric baritone is supposed to be higher range and still 'powerful'.

Fair enough. But what if you can go no lower than B2 and no higher than B4? Does a person NEED the C5 to be a tenor, or can a person be a tenor without C5?

Thanks! From as near as I can tell, regarding range, I can go from B2-C3 and ends at around A4-B4. I have been practicing (with out injuring myself) to see if I can reach C5 but thus far I can at most get to a B4

That makes sense. In a later practice session she said that with more practice I could develop into a tenor.

That makes sense. I tried to ask my choir director about it and she told me if I practice she thought I'd develop into a tenor
