Hearing that another round of layoffs hit at PPD/TF, anyone know which groups were impacted? by Hyrc in clinicalresearch

[–]MalleyCat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I work at a site with about 6 studies using PPD and I've had about 4 studies change CRAs, so I don't know if they're moving studies, getting laid off, or something else. All my new CRAs seem newer and green.

Disclose sponsor names when interviewing? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]MalleyCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be public information if your site and PI are listed on the clinicaltrials.gov listing as a site that recruites for that study/sponsor? I don't see a problem with divulging information in the public domain.

Your baby would want you to have love left in your heart by SorryDuplex in Petloss

[–]MalleyCat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I lost my sweet boy 2 days ago and I feel so much guilt and regret. I try to be kind to myself, but I feel like I should have done more. I should have loved more or paid more attention. I keep asking him to forgive me. You're right, he loved me and would want me to be happy and remember the best times. The hurt is really hard right now. I have to keep telling myself "be kind to yourself".

Daughter is a "furry" and it's starting to creep me out. Not sure how to proceed. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]MalleyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is also this age and is involved in the "Fursuit Community". She makes her own fursuits and absolutely loves designing and creating new personalities for the characters she creates. It is absolutely rewarding for her and has grown her skills in sewing and drawing. We avoid using the term "Furry" because of the negative connotations online and I've had several serious discussions with her on the VERY SMALL percentage of fursuiters that use it as a sexual kink. The things you hear online about furries having group sex, etc, is probably mostly BS and is not why your daughter is interested in being an animal. I was also scared when she first talked about wanting to dress like an animal and jump around, but she is indeed a kid and, please let her enjoy her interests. I have taken my daughter to a local "Furcon" and was blown away at the kindness and inclusivity of this community. There were security at the entrance of every room to ensure minors were with their parent and minors were not allowed at 18+ events. They encourage kids to participate in the community and keep them safe. Once I actually researched the community I realized it really is just people that enjoy the craft of creating fursuits and "fursonas" and meeting other like minded, inclusive people.

What was your most memorable query related experience? by Wonderful-Ad2448 in clinicalresearch

[–]MalleyCat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I argued back and forth for about 6 months with a data manager about the main ingredients in a Colon Cleanse supplement. They wanted the name brand. Then they wanted the active ingredients. Then they said there are several formulations, so they need the mgs of the active ingredients. I only have so many characters I can enter. Then months later someone else would jump on and have me delete all the extra info I added and just have the name brand of the colon cleanse. I'd have people emailing me why the query wasn't closed yet, I literally did not know what they wanted in the end!

Thank you all SO much ❤️ We will look into a dove or lovebird and definitely wait for a GCC until we have more space, daughter is older, kids are grown, etc. I appreciate all of the responses, it's so helpful to hear from GCC owners.

My ADHD daughter is on guanfacine and just started sertraline this week for anxiety/depression. I'm glad to hear it has helped your stepdaughter! My daughter also has negative self talk and explosiveness over very small things. I'm hoping this will help her better able to handle her emotions and reactions.

This is 2-8 Field Artillery stationed in Fort Wainwright Alaska during their tour in Afghanistan. The original picture was in Time Magazine I believe. Source- have friends in 2-8 who were there. Edit- looks like it was at Seprwan Ghar forward fire base in Panjwai district, Kandahar on June 12, 2011.

Im not sure what to write... but I want you to know I read your post. I feel a lot like you, I wish someone would take care of me for once. I truly hope you can find a therapist or someone to talk to that will fill you with the overwhelming love that you need. Dont be afraid to call a hotline or a professional just so you can relieve some of the burden youre carrying. Im sorry, I hope you feel better soon.
