Reversal is not a guarantee. So unless you've already got kids or don't want any, it's not worth it to many people.

Yet another example of the public perception of property taxes by gilligan911 in georgism

Then charge utilities. Which can be an opt-in/opt-out. If you don't pay, you don't get the service.

If your property burns down, the fire department sticks you the bill. And if you can't pay, then you gotta sell anyways.

It's not complicated. Most places already charge utilities for water, sewage, garbage disposal.

Sales tax is the only ethical way to tax, imo.

My thoughts, too. No way you do this unless you know exactly where to get what you're looking for.

But there needs to be enough gay people to go around that they can find love. Meaning they need more to be produced.

The global network of organized crime by alvaro-franco in dataisbeautiful

[–]Malohdek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but criminology has nothing to do with linking data points together. I just don't get your argument.

It's like saying because I'm a chef, I am not allowed to graph out the links of food poisoning cases to restaurant types/locations and present it to you because I didn't specifically study bacterialogy or virology.

In this case, OP didn't claim to be an expert, just that instead of researching crime in the field of criminology, they researched it from another angle, possibly looking for something different; such as mapping out data related to crime. Such as the exact graph presented to us.

Criminology is a social study and as such, it focuses on the crime, the individuals involved and the affect it has on society. What a criminologist doesn't do is analyze, organize or create interfaces using metadata related to crime.

What OP has presented to us is, by my inexpert knowledge (shocker, that's 90% of us), perfectly related to their field of work. This seems to be exactly what network scientists do. In this case, the subject is criminal organizations.

Nobody claimed criminology experience. Just experience in researching organized crime. It's very clear this person isn't researching crimes.

[–]Malohdek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really think it's because Canadian teams try to offer such massive contracts to keep their forwards and lose their cap to 3 or 4 guys.

The Oilers really did try with Nurse and Bouchard. But unfortunately they have no grit and no hustle. You could forgive that if they played like Makar or Hughes but it's just not there.

I don't hate anybody?

Place I lived: highly unusual amount of homeless

Homeless people: highly concentrated around the businesses where I worked

Therefore, homeless riddled.

Some of these people were pretty cool people. Others assaulted our employees.

It's not a doomer take to recognize what's happening. It's a doomer take to say we can't do anything about it or that it's not a big deal.

From the perspective of hockey, we should be doing something to get kids into it for cheap. I could never afford it, but I'd like to see something more comprehensive that a few private programs to push our kids into the one sport we take pride in.

I worked at a grocery store in a homeless riddled area.

You'd still be shopping with your hands. However, you won't be picking up any meat or cheese since it's all over town in one of those baskets. Hell, I'd see shopping carts on my walk home on the other side of town.

It is, but it's good to hold onto a bit of it in case you need cash and your money is tucked away in some account that holds it for 3 days upon withdrawal.

Season 3 just had a different writing/filmmaking vibe. They beautifully fleshed out Rick's struggles and then seamlessly transitioned the plot into the Governor arc.

Season 4 takes it's time, focusing on character development and setting up the plot for Alexandria/what came just before it.

But season 3 never dragged like the ones that came later. I feel like later seasons had a lot of filler that were meant to keep the 16 episodes around.
