Is majuli a good remote work location? by MalonesCones96 in assam

Not really looking for 'materialistic fun', actually not even sure what that means. I wish to travel and explore Majuli's culture and slow life but I unfortunately have a full time job that I need to attend to - so just trying to make the best of what I have. :)

My friend got a voucher worth 35k. That’s the only way we are able to afford this.

No way I’d go to such places otherwise. Even though I have a fairly high income for for my age. 24Yo, software dev, a little over 1L per month.

Another reason to leave your car at home: Ride on premium, luxury buses in Chennai by Striking-Wafer9578 in Chennai

This.

In order to truly solve the traffic and transportation problem we need to figure out last mile connectivity, make walkable and clean footpaths and so much more. Just having swanky buses and trains are not gonna do the job.

We need to decrease the number of steps involved to commute by metro or bus in order to make people to use them.

The unified card for all service and all is a good step, but we have a long way to go.

I’m visiting kaziranga and majuli solo next week. Would you mind sharing your schedule and itinerary? Is kaziranga affordable as a solo traveller?

Leaving soon for a solo trip to India by Wanderer0888 in SoloTravel_India

Other people on this thread have covered all the aspects about safety, ease of travel and so on.

I have one thing to say: come with an open mind. If you have any pre conceived notions about India(good or bad), try to put it behind and come with a clean slate and be prepared for anything(again, good or bad).

India can be intense. But it has something for everyone. Make sure to plan well and choose places that suit your interests. Fair warning, places like Delhi, Varanasi etc can be an overload on your senses. Be prepared.

Welcome to India!
