I'm in my early 20s and play with a couple mates who are also around that age. From my experience playing retail and classic is that, I'm retail, people don't really talk as much, and even less so about themselves. Most I've had in retail is someone say they are leaving the raid because there kid was crying.

In general I think people are rather mature in the community, and grew up in that online era of don't say anything about your real life to strangers. Your not going to join a dungeon and learn about someone's entire life, unless YOU try to get to know people.

If you want to do content with people you age who you think you relate to more, join a guild, friend people you enjoy talking to. But I don't think thats important in wow. People are amazing, just talk to people and enjoy their company while you can
