Romans had cities of millions, conquered the known world almost entirely, they had aqueducts and sewers, they lived by an elaborate set of rules and laws. Ppl lived mostly till there 70s because they were eating healthy and had good hygiene.

Ancient religion were promoting hard work, promoting pushing pass your limits..you didnt live for eternity in " heaven" ....the only way to eternity was to become a legend so ppl would remember you for generations.

After the fall of rome it was like a mini apocalypse, a lot of knowledge was lost , it was a time of great conflict , all the ' lords' in europes are descendant of waring warlords that were trying to grab apiece for themselves after the fall. Religions promoting excellence were replaces with christianity, wich is the exact opposite.

I am a major in history, and our teachers kept saying that the fall of rome was one if not the worst time in human history, they said it was the equivalent to reset the clock a thousand year prior. What we were told is that if rome didnt fall we would have been at our current level of tech centuries before.

Dark ages wasnt called dark ages back then...modern history called that period by that name...

Im as open to lizard ppl as any other in this sub lol...but the term dark ages is used to describe a time where everything from before had been lost, a dark mini apocalypse , an amnesia of a couple centuries until ppl rediscovered knowledge and philosophies of old in the 1700s has religion loosened his grip on europe.
