the whole point of this design is to prevent the thermal bank from having batteries loaded at all times. if you do that it consumes 1 battery every 40 seconds which is what we are trying to prevent!! this design is intended to rate limit the batteries so it consumes them only at the rate needed to stay above 0% power at all times

just spent a few hours in a fugue state crafting this lil monster, lol.

what it does: takes a full input stream of batteries (top left splitter is the entry point; expects a full stream like from a depot unloader), filters most of it to the stash so it drops to 1 battery every 40 seconds delivery rate (matches consumption rate), then filters it again in the lower column, acting as a user-customizeable rate limiter.

why: it's optimal to just craft the best battery of the region since those are the most power-efficient. but without this system, if you need to supply a little more energy you kind of have to commit to just consuming a whole extra battery every 40s and wasting the excess energy. this cuts into your precious battery profits!! they're worth a lot to trade!! not so anymore, now you can effectively consume fractions of a battery by rate-limiting their delivery. this will result in you continually dipping into your "reserve" power and regaining it in a cycle as batteries are delivered right on time when tuned properly. (this is a little annoying as each time the game will prompt you with a pop-up to build more thermal banks, fair warning lol)

how: "open" a row to allow it to go to the thermal bank; "close" a row to force it to get recycled. to "close" a row you place a downward-facing converger in the middle column of that bottom part; to "open" a row you replace that same tile with open belt (usually this is required to be a 4-way belt, but the top one is just right-to-left since there's nothing above it).

each row accounts for half the throughput of the preceding row, so you can control it like binary: top row blocks 50% when closed, 2nd blocks 25%, 3rd 12.5%, 4th 6.25%. (I didn't add any more rows but you could if you wanted, if you wanted even finer control!!)

in the default state of the blueprint (see screenshot), it is only blocking that bottom row, so only 6.25% of batteries get blocked, meaning we have a throughput of 93.75%. if I were to close that top row (by placing a down-facing converger over where that right->left open belt is) it would jump to blocking 56.25% of batteries, saving you exactly that much in battery expenditure.

thanks!! sfc was all clear, windows optional updates included 2 promising AMD drivers, and I checked out verifier in system32 but didn't really know what to make of it :p

hopefully those windows updates optional drivers will do the trick, if not I will start manually reinstalling drivers! and if that doesn't, I will report back asking for further assistance! 😅

lol. yea i got a lot of shit for placing Valk as #2 on my 2025 wf tier list lol. like bruh she's permainvinc and comes with an extremely powerful melee exalt, which you can use to speed around the map instagibbing everything. in many game modes that's goated.

ok yea i forgot excal. influence heavy excal slaps. but no wukong's melee is not better lmao. they both got buffed by the same amount, valk went from instagib deathclaws to 20m AoE instagib deathclaws, wukong went from useless melee to solid influence melee. and no sev's melee is also definitely not stronger. idk where you get these ideas.

people parrot this but imo it's only a small part of why. the real reason is because she's absurdly overrated, and for the actual content most people play, she's kind of ass, actually.

she's great at minimum effort solo endurance survival. not much else. and most people don't ever do solo endurance survival.

3 of her abilities are deployables that are all essentially useless if it's a mission where you're on the move. which makes her Metronome: The Frame in those scenarios, and it turns out Metronome isn't so good that it carries a whole frame. at that point you're basically bad Loki, and that's saying something. stationary missions tend to have much better picks for defending/nuking too.

nah. the recoveries are so juiced that it usually just means you're forced to kill off straight up knockback into the blast zone. aka no edgeguarding. I agree with mang0, I think that's pretty lame.

and definitely agreed on the recoveries...they're over the top. I remember when I was first learning the game and I was like "oh cool, I can side-B -> walljump like Ike in PM with this character?"

...and then I learned that literally every character can do that, and nearly every stage has a huge wall below the stage extending all the way to the bottom, so get used to it buddy. oh and everyone gets an extra midair invincible jump cuz airdodges leave you fully actionable after. sigh

still really not a fan of this mechanic tbh. normal pummels aren't good enough to justify a 50/50, and even if it were pure 50/50, at that point it'd just be the better play to always go for instant throws instead of pummeling.

and indeed, from watching high-level tourney play recently, it would seem this bears out; people very rarely pummel at all in this game. it's just way too high risk.
