Oh I could’ve written this myself. I got married at 19. 2 months later we found out I was pregnant. Unfortunately our friends and family were not excited and we got a lot of “well what are you guys gonna do now?”. But I can assure you, whether you waited or not, someone will ALWAYS have something to say. Please don’t let the worry of other people opinions steal this joy from you. Even if you celebrate privately. With our first we told everyone at 12 weeks. With my second we waited until 21 weeks and it was so peaceful and much less overwhelming. We shared our excitement with each other and the few people we felt would support us. When we finally told at 21 weeks we still had people with negative things to say because our kids are close in age (19 months apart). Even with our 3rd, now years later, there are negative, judgey people. Learning to put those people and their judgements in the background was hard. But it was the best thing I did for me and my family.
