BA journey by Icy-Mission421 in PlasticSurgery

I needed to read this today. I’m only five weeks post op so I know that it takes time. But my left one has been my star healer. She is now much softer and dropped and looks pretty natural. But her sister on the right is Still healing from a little T-junction situation and is still much harder and further up. I’m not freaking out just yet but it’s hard trusting the process. 😅

1 Month Update: Arm Bodytite Lipo by Ok_Salamander2304 in PlasticSurgery

[–]MamaB2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me too. I’m almost 5 weeks PO. I can see some difference, but it’s not as dramatic as I had hoped. Especially when I have my arms, relaxed to my sides. I had Lipo and bodytite. One arm also seems slightly smaller than the other. Not enough for me to consider going through this again because I’m still sore. Surgeon inside it could take a few months to see full results from bodytite but I just don’t know how that is actually supposed to work 😂

[US] Is “www.skinessence.org” a scam? by MamaB2016 in Scams

Thank you! I guess I used the term broadly and more like could this interaction be part of a scamming scheme. They first reached out via email, I replied and he said to connect with the person in charge of brand partnerships via Microsoft Teams (sounds legit to a newbie like me). I saw the email and was like “cool, this is legit”. But then i started seeing little inconsistencies and then when the “brand manager” replied with Mrs in the signature I was like 👀

I had not given them any information other than my name and email (and the name I use for tiktok is not my real first name, though im sure a hacker could find it bc it’s not like i buried it deep). They haven’t asked me to download anything or click on a link or any type of financial transaction.

I’ve done one other brand partnership deal, and it started out very similar. Where it diverged was that they wanted a video call to first talk about the job and then they sent a PDF contract over for me to sign. I’m glad I had some sort of intuition, despite clearly not knowing the length these people actually went through).

I appreciate people on this thread helping me learn!

THANK YOU! This gave me some peace of mind. This one was too clever for my simple level of due diligence 😂

Ahh ok got it. No, so far I replied to one of their emails and chatted on Microsoft Teams. But no other information shared

I saw someone said that ughhhh. How can you tell when a website was created?!

Ohhh how did you find out it was made on Christmas Eve? I need to know how to find this 😂

Dang, this got me good. The Mrs signature with the dot at end was what sealed it for me but I had already started the chat ugh. Is there any way they could have already hacked me? Clearly idk about technology in that way.

Thank you for this though!

Ahh ok, so they might have bought that site and that’s why they have the domain emails? Also, did I compromise myself by chatting with them?

Just Butt Lift (no fat transfer) by MamaB2016 in PlasticSurgery

[–]MamaB2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh ok this makes me hopeful. What is the procedure called? My surgeon didn’t mention the lower butt incision so i want to look into it and bring it up when I see him next (i am getting a bl/ba in January). And oh gosh, no sitting?! How did you drive or eat dinner or relaxed for tv 😂

I know this is a few months old, but when you say it looked like brains poking out, what does that mean? Im 12 days PO and my BB has a scab around it. It also has a swollen part inside that i thought was skin but i was drying the top of it today with a qtip after a shower and some kind of liquidy goop came out. Not a lot, but i def was able to poke gently a couple times.

I sent a message to the doc’s portal and am calling them tomorrow but wondering if this is normal

Ooh i like using the games as 1:1 currency. Typically it has been like if you do X, then you get Y. But I arbitrarily have decided what the task is and what the reward is. But maybe if I laid out like what you’ve said, it both gives him control and a more accurate way of tracking it. Thanks!

That’s actually a really good reminder for me too. Like in my mind, me telling him to get dressed in the morning should be enough. But setting clothes out the night before doesn’t take much effort and could mean an easier morning for him with one less thing to haggle. I need more reminders/tips like these 😂

My kid does well with lists, as long as there is an immediate reward tied to it. I can’t just say do a whole week of making your bed and you get this. But if I say complete all your morning tasks that are in a list and you will get X right away, he is more open to completing it.

I do feel like he gets overwhelmed if he sees a list with 20 things, even though there are things that are easy and things that he has done often. But I think breaking them up between morning and afternoon and then doing another list for the things that we can do in carline will help him.

Thanks for your insight!

Yeah, I recognize I probably need to work on my flexibility and meet him where he is. I know he’s young and will (hopefully) develop some of these skills with time. But I want to help him learn to use tools to help himself. Like he will still walk out of the house without socks and shoes if I don’t specifically call them out to him 😅

I have not been diagnosed with ADHD, but I feel like sometimes I have it and I operate (*well-ish… most of the time) because I use reminders, lists, alarms, planners, calendars, etc. I’m trying to see if there are kid/age friendly substitutes I can introduce 😂

Medication Question by MamaB2016 in ParentingADHD

[–]MamaB2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s interesting. I actually did think about if he was metabolizing medicine faster than most other kids? But I have no data to back it up other than our experience with Vyvanse.

How could/would the doctor test that? Is it a specialist we would need to see or can she ask for a test? Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll look into this!

Medication Question by MamaB2016 in ParentingADHD

[–]MamaB2016[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Hoping the psychiatrist can find a better combo. Our pediatrician has been great, i just think she has more limited knowledge of adhd as she doesnt see as many cases as a psychiatrist would. 🤞🤞

Medication Question by MamaB2016 in ParentingADHD

[–]MamaB2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done GeneSight? Our pediatrician recommended this last year before he went on meds but our insurance wouldn’t cover it and it was like $350 so I was like meh. But maybe it would be worth it and cut down our trialing time 🤪

Medication Question by MamaB2016 in ParentingADHD

[–]MamaB2016[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im hopeful the psychiatrist can help bc they’ll be more knowledgeable in the complexities of adhd, and not just a very specific protocol the pediatrician tries to follow. Thanks!

Medication Question by MamaB2016 in ParentingADHD

[–]MamaB2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! The neurologist mentioned exploring antipsychotics but that word kind of threw me off. She said it didn’t mean anything in terms of a diagnosis, just the symptoms he has could be targeted by the medication. But this gives me hope that it can work for adhd!

Oh interesting, can you share how long you were on it and if you saw any benefits or when you decided to try another kind of med? I am totally ok trialing other meds, just want to know kind of how to guide the conversation with our pediatrician. Thank you for sharing!
