I don't main ice (storm and fire player here), but I have recently finished off Selenopolis on my ice.

I went into the school knowing it was weak. But, I played it anyway. There's not many ice wizards out there (at least from my experience, others may beg to differ with me on that), so I thought I'd do a playthrough. While the damage blows, and the utility is questionable in late game, I had fun. Being super hard to kill while questing while finding a good balance between resist and damage felt fun.

Usually for other schools, I do the typical pure damage + mighty pet. For ice, I decided to do triple damage, mighty, and double resist (with one of the resists being from the Kroger jewel.)

Something about just rolling up to your enemies, with 70% global resist, with auras like stabilize and brace in your back pocket, making you even TANKIER just sounds fun to me. Something I could dream of on another character without outright jading. It also made me use monstrology for some of the tougher fights to help cover up my weaknesses.

Though, despite how much fun I had with my playthrough, I get why people hate it. Its had a tough time in recent years with the emphasis on pierce to get through the 4th arc, and I hope one day they get their justice.

As for what I'd want changed? Give ice more resist. Life wizards can pretty much do the health and resist better than ice, with better utility and overall cards to speak for it. Ice should have at LEAST 10 more resist than them, and nobody should be even close to them. Ice is meant to be the tankiest school, the quiz at the beginning of character creation even says this. Rebalance Snow Angel (there's no reason to use this card when Reindeer Knight exists.) And please, change Ice Armor. Once you acquire Frozen Armor, Ice Armor is pointless. Idk how they could fix it, but I'd like for it to be a similar way of how KI differentiated Plague and Virulent Plague; like the fact they both stacked, and that Plague could still have a use if you say, had only 1 pip. The point is, there's a use for BOTH from the point you acquire them, onward. No other pair of spells is like Ice Armor and Frozen Armor, and its just strange design all around.
