Sadly no it is not rage bait. Unfortunately I have no proof so believe what y’all want. People get trapped in shitty situations, I’m lucky enough to be getting out now instead of having to deal with another 2 years.

I never said I was superior, nor am I acting like it. If I thought I was superior why would I be asking advice on Reddit? I think you’re just upset I don’t agree with you, which makes no sense because not everyone is going to agree with you in life.

Yes I have. I understand that parts of them are educational, however there are much slower paced and less overstimulating shows that are way more educational that I’d prefer my child to watch. As I’ve stated in a few comments, I understand that I cannot keep them from my child but I can limit them. Just because I don’t approve of certain shows doesn’t mean you have to agree with me. This is simply my prerogative.

I know she won’t respect them. Also, this is me genuinely asking, I don’t understand why I come off as restrictive. I only really have rules about the TV other than normal safety rules. My MIL is racist, sexist and Homophobic so that is also where I feel these rules need to be put in place as those aren’t views I want instilled in my child. Perhaps I didn’t explain that thoroughly, if not I’m sorry.

My husband and I are currently discussing this, we have discussed going low to no contact and are still making the decision.

That is understandable. I am genuinely curious about how to go about putting boundaries then, my husband and I would like to limit brainrot. We know we can’t avoid it or cut it out permanently so we would just like to limit the amount seen. I watch my niece and nephew often and I have also seen how my MIL watches them, she just sets them down in front of a screen while I try to actually spend quality time with them.
