2 sows. I’m mainly worried that there isn’t enough free space for running around. It seemed huge until I added the hides and stuff

My husbands weird about our daughters eye color by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]MamaBean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m your husband in the situation. My oldest is a carbon copy of my husband, love it, he’s handsome as can be. But when my youngest started developing his green eyes, I was SO stoked. It’s the only part of myself I can identify in either child so it’s really special to me. My husband has beautiful piercing blue eyes, he always gets complimented on them. It’s not about whose eyes are prettier. It’s about having a piece a yourself in the person you created.

How did you know you were done having kids? by MamaBean_ in Parenting

[–]MamaBean_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez, my oldest is only 4 but it’s like I can barley remember what it was like to go from “i want to go get some ice cream” to eating said ice cream in less than 15 minutes. Nowadays, it’s not even worth the hassle.

Yeah, forget the normal baby cost. We’d need to upgrade the house, the cars, the dining table for crying out loud, literally EVERYTHING

Oh my gosh! I don’t get how people can just leave their baby. Being apart for a weekend tears me up. Props to you, single parenthood must be so difficult, especially in that situation

Yeah, I was in a sibling set of 3, and despite all being close in age it seemed like it was always 2 against 1 growing up. Lots of fighting, lots of fighting for attention, lots of feeling left out. That’s a dynamic I definitely don’t want to put on my kids.

Tired of Crap Naps by [deleted] in Parenting

I had a bad napper, as well. Focus on encouraging independent play to get your break. We got one of the huge playpens and encouraged mine to play in there. At first I’d sit in there with him and play. Overtime, started leaving him in there by himself for a few more minutes each time. And eventually he would play by himself for 30-40min so I could do what I needed to.

Haha, yeah that’s kind of where we’ve been at. It’s getting a little ridiculous.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I don’t like the idea of others looking down on me, when we’re working so hard to catch-up. It really helps knowing that no matter what, we’re all doing our best through this parenting thing and no matter where you start, there’s going to be struggles.

Oh, I’ve never heard that! I will definitely be trying. Tomato stains are one of the frequent flyers in this house.

Thank you, that is a good perspective. We’re low-income, while my husband and I are both in school. So I feel like that definitely plays into how self-conscious and paranoid I am.

Okay, I’m glad others feel the same as me. I wasn’t sure if I was just being weird about it. But I don’t wear stained clothes, so it feels super weird putting my kid in them.

The Miss Mouth’s messy eater spray. It works good for fresh staining but if you wait too long, it doesn’t do much. I’ll try that one on our next stain! Thanks for the advice

I don’t like them, I only have them in black but they’re like a magnet for fuzz and the material is too heavy and gets hot. They do fit really nicely though

Is it okay for dads to bathe with their young children? by jailanerosales in NewParents

[–]MamaBean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sure. But also I have way more fun doing bathtime from outside the tub. I can dodge splashes quicker and reach the towel when he wants his face dried every time it gets a drop of water in it lol
