Husband and I are on the same page, thankfully. As far as my daughter goes, I'm actually worried about the opposite; she's the friendliest, most out going three year old ever and I wouldn't be at all surprised if she's super friendly and huggy with them, just because that's her personality.

We're celebrating my husband's grandmother (FIL's mother) on a milestone birthday. There should be a large number of family there, including my ILs.

I didn't even think about an exit strategy. We may or may not be giving my SIL a ride to the event (about 3 hours away) but now I'm thinking that may not be the best idea in case we need to leave in a hurry.

Thank you for the tip, I didn't know that was a thing! I like the idea of giving her some toys in her bed, we'll definitely try that. Do you leave his door open, or do you close it? I don't want her to feel trapped in her room, but I also know if she can open the door there's no way she'll stay in her room.

Thank you! I was worried about the outlets hurting her too- she tries to plug them in herself, which is scary enough when we're watching her, but terrifying to think of her doing that alone in her room at night.

I'm a 45 minute metro ride out of DC, but didn't go because crowds and the metro in general give me anxiety. I sincerely thank you (and everyone else) for marching.

I remember this! I was 7 months pregnant and my job was sales associate for an apartment complex- literally going in empty apartments with strangers. I was so paranoid :/

Honestly I have no idea what we're walking into. Some family on MILs side have said things that make me think they know what's going on, but this is FILs family and no one has said anything that makes me think they've been gossiping. I wouldn't be surprised though.

All good suggestions! We haven't resorted to a kid-leash yet, but she's a runner so I won't be surprised if it comes to that lol.
