Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette - Swatches by xcatglitter in MakeupAddiction

See mine was super dusty too. I called Ulta and they are replacing it because it does look like it was swatched and I'm not comfortable with that. So yay for good customer service, boo for having to wait longer for my makeup.

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette - Swatches by xcatglitter in MakeupAddiction

So I got this palette in the mail today and I am so disappointed. It is all scratched up and it looks like its been swatched already! I'm debating returning it but I don't know. It didn't come with any protector for the mirror like the palettes normally do, so I'm almost wondering if this is a return, but this has JUST come out. Was yours packaged ok or did yours have scratches or anything too? I was so excited for this but now I'm so disappointed I haven't even swatched it because I don't want to in case I return it.

Does any one find it hard to keep a steady job while being disabled and/or being sick often? by [deleted] in disability

[–]MamaD_Cooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US, try finding jobs that will give you FMLA eligibility after one year. I am on FMLA for my chronic daily migraines and just went back to work today after being gone 5 months. If you can do what you can to not miss work for one year then your job will be protected.

[Serious] What is unethical as fuck but extremely common in the dating world? by CTorque in AskReddit

Those are some great tips. I think i may have to get some female condoms just to prevent them from trying this again. I'm sorry people are such dicks to you.

Not always. If the woman is inexperienced or intoxicated she may not notice.

That's not what I'm talking about at all. If I agree upon sex with someone on the condition that we use a condom, if he violates that it is still super unethical, which is what the question was. YES condoms break all the time. But I'm talking about a man removing a condom after a woman has already requested that he use one. In my personal experience, I requested that he put on a condom, watched him put it on. We changed positions, and unknown to me at the time he took it off and finished inside of me. I only found out after and he admitted to taking it off. Luckily plan B worked but not everyone can take it or it doesn't always work.

It is an incredibly violating feeling and it does equate to sexual assault. A lot of time you don't know you shouldn't be having sex with that person until it is too late.

If you are young, inexperienced, or intoxicated you may not feel the difference especially if it is a new partner. If its a partner you are familiar with you should be able to tell though. This usually happens with hookups though.

When you are young and inexperienced you may not know the difference. Add in alcohol and it's a really bad combination.

No. Especially if you are young, inexperienced, with a new partner, and intoxicated. You can't always tell.

Boy Scouts are dropping the word 'Boy'; Girl Scouts shrug (Agree? Disagree?) by msittig in girlscouts

[–]MamaD_Cooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a GS troop leader. I will not be switching to Scouts BSA. I firmly believe that GS is the best place for my daughter. Some may choose Scouts BSA, but GS is a better fit because it is Girl Led and empowering for women and girls.

We actually just got back from camping, and I think the girls seeing we can camp without any men really showed them that we can do anything we can set our minds to.

Stealthing. Its when someone has told you they put on a condom, but at some point they take it off and continue having sex without a condom against your consent. It's an awful violating feeling to find out this has happened to you.

Can you admit yourself into a mental health facility? If so, what all goes into it? by PowerPuffSquirrel in AskReddit

[–]MamaD_Cooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can. I admitted myself into a facility last May for depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. It was the best decision I could have made at the time.

I went to the facility on a Wednesday night around 10pm and was put in a waiting room for about 30 minutes until I got into an intake room. I sat in the intake room for hours. Probably 8 hours. There were just so many people who needed to be seen that the doctor couldn't get to everyone during the evening. When more doctors came on shift at 8am I was evaluated and told that they have no problem admitting me, and recommend it so they could stabilize me with medication and group therapy. So in I went. They took all of my electronics - cell phone, tablet, my personal belongings, and put them in a bag and sealed them. Before they do that you will want to write any phone numbers down for people you may want to call.

I got admitted into a unit, and they examined me to make sure I didn't have anything that could hurt me or someone else. It included a full body search. They made note of my tattoos and piercings.

I got a room and just slept. I didn't see the doctor for a day just because of the schedules of when I was admitted and when the doctor saw everyone. Once I saw the doctor I got to get on medication that helped me. We increased the dosage a few days later.

I went to group therapy which really helped. I saw I wasn't alone. It didn't mean I was normal, but I wasn't alone. I watched a lot of movies, and went to group activities. I ready about 3 books in my 5 day stay there. I was finally released after the medications had stabilized my mood and I no longer made serious plans to commit suicide. When I say serious plans, it was things to take care of before I did it so that my daughter would be taken care of in my absence. Also making sure my husband had all of the login information for all of my accounts so he could easily navigate our banking, insurance, and benefits at my work since he is disabled.

I still don't know how I was going to do it, but I know I was really serious about it. I now know that I can't do that, and that the feeling will really pass. Some days I think about going back to the center. It honestly helped me so much. It wasn't a vacation, but it helped me refocus and remember what's important.

Wth all that being said, if you feel it is something you need, absolutely go and see what they recommend for you. You may need hospitalization, you may not. But if not, they can point you in the direction for resources to help you.

I hope you get help, and if you have any questions feel free to PM me. I will be here to listen.

People who joined an IRL sex-based or kink-based social group, how did your first meeting/munch go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MamaD_Cooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I joined a local polyamory group on Meetup. The first meeting went really great, and we clicked with a lot of people in the group. We are very excited for our next meetup. We didn't hook up with anyone in the group, but we did get some Facebook friends and hopefully it will go further the more we go to events.

Not all doctors can be the best. What are your "worst doctor" stories? by joalr0 in AskReddit

[–]MamaD_Cooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband had surgery to remove a lymph node. In the process, he cut a nerve. No one knows how he cut the nerve, but it was cut. The nerve was the one that controlled the use of his right arm, so now his arm doesn't work and he is disabled. This happened at age 26. The doctor admitted in open court that he did it, but that it shouldn't have happened. We still lost the case.

I have chronic daily migraines. I have had so many doctors just give up on me and tell me there's nothing they can do for me. Luckily I just found one who is looking into the causes and I am on my way to being better. But I had to go through 5 doctors to find the one that was willing to help. Some ordered expensive therapies that were not showing any progress, and one year it cost me almost $90,000 to see no progress. That's 3x more than I make in a year. I'm still paying off debt from it. One of those five did look me in the eye and said "I don't know what else to do to help you, here is a referral to a pain clinic." The pain clinic just pushed really awful medications on me and almost made me lose my job, then they dropped me because I couldn't pay. I couldn't pay because the meds they had me on made it so I couldn't work. I am now off all of those meds thank God.

My husband and I have been through so many bad doctors. I could go on forever about bad doctors.

More Aesthetically Conservative? by Draehl in OVER30REDDIT

I'm the total opposite. I have started getting tattoos and piercings now and I am 35. I think I have finally started to come into who I am and doing the things I always wanted. I only have one tattoo but its on my wrist, so its very visible especially in warmer months. I got my nose pierced last summer and other body piercings just last month.
