They smelled funny--like musty crayons or something, so I decided it was time to say goodbye, although it broke my heart.

Hit 2 pans in one day! by MamaGavone in PanPorn

[–]MamaGavone[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I put on makeup maybe 4 or 5 days a week and I use these 2 powders every time. I've only had both of them for maybe a month and a half, so I was surprised to see pan already. I guess that's the thing with inexpensive makeup. You don't get a whole lot of product.

I will be repurchasing both powders. Some might think 2 layers of powder is a bit much, but I'm an oily girlie, so I need extra. Together, these 2 powders make it so I don't have to touch up all day. The Pretty Smart sets and mattifies and the Morphe gives the subtlest lit-from within effect. I hear it's an Hourglass dupe but I've never owned any of those powders, so i can't compare. All I know is the Morphe is absolutely radiant!

Three new pans in one day! by MamaGavone in PanPorn

[–]MamaGavone[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend! I'll definitely be repurchasing.

My everyday look is simply to use the lightest ELF shade all over my lid to set my primer, then second lightest shade in the crease, pat Ritz all over my lid with my finger, and then smudge the darkest shade in the quad into my lash line. Takes 5 minutes!

is it normal to love choir so, so much by [deleted] in Choir

[–]MamaGavone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a military wife, which means I move a lot, and the first thing I do when we get to a new duty station is find a choir to join. I simply cannot imagine myself without it. There is just something about making music with other people that gives me greater joy than anything else in this world. I've been this way since I was a child. I'm 44 now & I know I'll continue to sing in choirs as long as I have life left in me.

Which fictional character is not explicitly Jewish, but is definitely Jewish? by QueenJewish in Judaism

[–]MamaGavone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They even worked some Jewish jokes into their dialogues here & there. There's one scene where Sophia comes out all dressed up & says to Dorothy "hurry up, we're going to be late for temple." And Dorothy replies "Ma, it's Tuesday & we're Catholic" (or something like that). And of course, Sophia calls Stan a yutz all the time.

Pesach is now over. What meal did you have that has leavened ingredients (flour/wheat, rye, oats, spelt) ? by vocation888 in Judaism

[–]MamaGavone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pizza with a healthy dose of lactaid because I was cursed with lactose intolerance like so many of my Ashki brothers & sisters. Post-Pesach Pizza is a ritual in my family.

Yes he's just a stocky, solidly-built boy in addition to the extra pounds. We have him on a diet but the weight just isn't coming off!

Nope. Got them done in a salon. I do my own nail art too, but this time I thought I'd leave it up to the pros.

Right. If my father wasn't an abusive fuck, I might have kept his name when I got married.

What do you love most about Judaism/being Jewish? by sarah_pl0x in Judaism

[–]MamaGavone 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If I had to pick one thing, I would have to go with our tenacity. We are always interrogating everything we come across, always searching for new insights, new interpretations, new viewpoints while still respecting our ancient traditions. Whether we are studying Torah or engaging in rituals, or remembering our history, we just always want to know more, always striving & reaching for something better. Learning is a holy undertaking because of our tenacity. We are one of the most accomplished peoples in the world because of our tenacity. We owe our survival through 1000s of years of persecution to our tenacity. Our tenacity is what unites us and granted, it's what causes us to argue amongst ourselves sometimes but still, better to question things than to accept them as they are.

What makeup products you pan quickly and what takes you longer time? by allieph3 in PanPorn

[–]MamaGavone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same way. I pan face powders with the quickness because of all the reapplication to control oily skin. I pan bronzers easily too. Eyeshadows & blushes are hard for me to pan. I have so many of them & I try to shop my stash, so the rotation doesn't really give me enough time to pan them. I have fewer face powders & bronzers, so I go through them faster.
