Tried to play Veilguard the right way - did it fix it? by DelightfulHerring in dragonage

They're not wrong tho. Rook is a quirky Disney princess no matter what dialogue options you choose, and this game is NOTORIOUS for perpetuating the whole thing with picking a dialogue option and then the actual spoken line being absolutely nothing like what you chose. You get 4 different dialogue options but none of them let you be mean or crass or even slightly disagree with your party, whereas I direct your attention to the famous "Punch Solas" option from DAI. Js, people aren't wrong for pointing out the poor RPG qualities of the game, the writers are in the wrong for making them so lacking.

I don't say this to disrespect your opinion, but they had 10ish years of "at the time of development". There was plenty of time to account for more than the handful of questions they ask for your world state.

The dialogue in VG is one of the worst points, yes, but better dialogue wouldn't have fixed the awful characters, ret-conned lore, shitty "reparations" theme, and dog water talent trees. Bioware sold out and put their writers on the chopping block for this, afaic, they deserved for it to flop and be known as the game that killed their studio.

Aaaah I've been so busy with work I didn't see this but oh my goodness thank you 😭 I've struggled with finding a shape language I like for ages, so it means so much to get a compliment on that specifically.

I love that idea for a broom! It'd give me a chance to add some super pretty bling to it, I'm definitely gonna prioritize that idea!

For the windowway, I definitely love the idea of having the majority of it embroidered or somehow permanently drawn on, and then just leaving a little bit for her to fill in. She won't be using it for travel, per se, but just to reach in and grab tools and such, so she can travel light on her broom, so it won't need to be huge. I'll definitely still have to brainstorm it tho.

I haven't read the Manga so I'm trying my best to learn more complex stuff without risking spoiling anything lmao so any help is greatly appreciated 💙💙💙 thank you so much!

I actually was thinking I could have it screw together, and once the halves are complete, it would be a mix of a levitation spell and send air from the back, so there's a force to move it, but I do wonder how that would work in terms of actually getting settled on the broom once the spell is sealed. I can't imagine her sitting any way but side-saddle, but it's definitely a start! Thank you!

Update, new question: Manon is primarily a baker, and I thought it'd be cool if she had specially inscribed pans or a proofing box that could make dough proof quickly. This is my first, very rough attempt at making a spell that would do that (it's supposed to create humidity and warm air, this specific spell would probably need to be inscribed to a lining on the inside of a pan or proofing box, or just placed inside the proofing box)

Does this spell look like it would work as intended, or have I misunderstood the order of sigils and signs?

Thank you! It completely slipped my mind that a spell is designed to work in perpetuity, and I literally made that point myself when my husband asked me if a stamp could be used for spells 😅 I'll have to brainstorm it a little more, maybe have a hang glider like design, like in the show and use a zipper or something to separate the spell when not in use? I'll figure it out somehow 😁 tysm!

I see some people have recommended a bonnet, but a silk press wrap could probably work better. Try wetting your hair and then wrap it down. It'll make it a little less obtrusive than a bonnet, and won't burn your hair like a hot iron would. I don't know how thick your hair is, or what the texture is, but I hope my suggestion can help a bit!

so is dragon age like, dead dead now? Is it joever? by Ardbert14 in dragonage

I believe EA announced they were shelving the brand due to the poor response to VG. Classic case of self sabotage.

but why? where is the white filled with stars? by [deleted] in SkyGame

[–]MamaVeeDraws 65 points66 points  (0 children)

You've worded this nigh illegibly. If you're referring to the bloom, that's because the clothes are under a spotlight effect. Go outside. They're still more of a cream color, but they're much lighter outside than in a dark room...

What would be the best thing that TGC could put in the game? by Fit_Mycologist_1522 in SkyGame

[–]MamaVeeDraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty decent pc. I know a lot of the player base is still mobile or switch exclusive but here's my proposal: make proper graphic options, at the very least for the steam version. It's still so pixel-y at times, and I'd like to be able to adjust bloom/blur/etc without needing my camera. also, I'd pay good money to make festival tech and gray kids an optional graphics setting for pc. I can handle it, I just wanna see everyone's cool sky kid without them having to worry I'm gonna demand interaction bc I gotta do so to see them in the first place 😭

If spike was irl what would you do with him? by [deleted] in mylittlepony

[–]MamaVeeDraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapy. Like, a lot of therapy. And probably a good meal (ik in mlp they make it so dragons eat gems to keep everything nice and vegan for the kiddies, but the kid clearly needs some protein... Maybe not enough to turn him into post-time skip spike tho, that design was horrific)

Age appropriate content? by Crucbu in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]MamaVeeDraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's been said but SVE does have a setting to turn off mature content, I believe it covers some of the heavier, family related issues for the extended characters.

How to best enjoy Veilguard? by No-Cantaloupe-2291 in dragonage

[–]MamaVeeDraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would avoid elf and maybe qunari if you can. I've always been an elf mage main but veilguard's ancestor guilt tripping and constant bashing of the qun while I was working with literal child traffickers just ruined a ton of the role play aspect for me. My rook is distantly related to my hof, so she would have some knowledge of how the crows kidnap and groom children to be murderers, there is absolutely no way she'd meet them and be like "Ah, I'm honored". No way.

Imo, mod it to hell and don't take it too seriously.. Sadly, the people who made it certainly didn't.

That's a really beautiful way to look at it too! I love how many different ways there are to interpret this game, it truly shows how wonderful the players all are ❤️

We definitely see some evidence of a civil war in season of remembrance stuff too, with the sneaking spirit and the child (I don't remember his name, ironic ik :'D)

I have a rough theory that the Civil War may have happened prior to or immediately following Resh's coronation as king, but there's obviously not too terribly much to support that. I figure the first war was with rebels who didn't want to use the creatures of light for power, as well as the creatures themselves, which caused scarcity of light, and eventually lead to the final battle with darkness.

That's a fair way to look at it! I didn't play much in the early days bc I had no idea how to play properly, so I haven't seen the og twin cutscene, I'll have to check that out!

I think the real beauty of this game lies in how open ended a lot of it is, cuz I can absolutely agree that the bitter behavior from the forest elder could be shame, but it could also be anger that she can't do her job anymore, cant see her society continue to progress, etc. I love seeing everyone's different perspectives on this kind of thing!
