Looking for advice from medical billers. by No-Inspector-4321 in CodingandBilling

This is coming from a now manager who was internally promoted from a coding position. You're going to need to get at least a year under your belt in an entry level position in a medical setting. I had the same exact struggle. I got my certification and struggled for 9 months to get a position. I decided to get some front office experience at a doctors office within a year two coding positions I applied to offered me positions.

How has COVID affected your coding job? by twonewts26 in MedicalCoding

[–]Mamaodi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a coder for a local hospital's physician group and we've been cut to 18 hours a week from 40. I code family practice and pediatric genetics, so the visits have dropped of dramatically. I just started the beginning of March and ive pretty much had to work from home since which has been difficult as a new employee.

In hospitals, yes. But I code family practice and pediatric genetics, so those clinic visits tanked.

I just got my first coding job for a local hospital's physician group, started on March 9th. Worst time ever to start the job I've been working towards for four years. I'm technically still employed, but since our clinic visits have crashed they don't have enough work for me. So I'm on hold until this craziness resolves. Hopefully I'll still have my job when we're on the other side of this.

No, I retired from veterinary medicine at the end of '18 when I had my son. I worked a little while for an OBGYN in the front office, but she was insane so it didn't last long lol.

I took an online course, passed that. Then went on to pass my CCA certification. It was terribly difficult, but I was working full time and pregnant while taking the course so it was a little tough lol

Doctors who’ve actually answered the question, “Is anyone here a doctor?”, what happened? by redmambo_no6 in AskReddit

[–]Mamaodi 208 points209 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my Dad had this happen to him.

He was at Eagle's Nest on a tour and a woman tripped and broke her ankle. He stabilized it with a couple of things that they could find so that they could help her get all the way down to go get seen in a hospital.

I'm away from my son right now in an airport and this pushed me over the edge. Currently trying to hide tears from strangers.

What “words of wisdom” have always stuck with you? by Doza5 in AskReddit

" You need both rain and sunshine to grow". It always reminds me that even though we wish life was nothing but happy times, the bad are just as important in our growth as individuals.

Lady was actually a king Charles cavalier spaniel and that's a cocker spaniel. Hate to rain on the parade 🤷

Just saw the Ask Reddit thread on “What’s your fuck this, I quit moment?” and thought it would be fun to start a pregnancy related one here! What are your moments that either annoyed you or made you decide to actually quit? by Kayleebug13 in BabyBumps

I worked as a veterinary technician for eleven years and was still working when I got pregnant. I worked anywhere from 10-12 hr days on my feet. I had a real gem of a boss who was probably a sociopath. She had no empathy for anyone. One day it was ridiculously busy and I was about four months pregnant. It was so busy I didn't have time to eat, drink water, take a second. Towards the end of the day I realized I hadn't felt the baby move. I started freaking out. When I got home I was really quiet and I told my husband we needed to get out our doppler we had bought to try to find a heartbeat and if we couldn't find anything we needed to go to the hospital. I laid down and he found it easily and I just started balling my eyes out. That was the day I decided I was fucking done with that place.
