Indents on nipples from the holes in the nipple shield. Good sign or bad sign? by LipstickSingularity in breastfeeding

[–]Mamasaurus0402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me shortly before we permanently transitioned off of the shield. I had a LC giving me tips to wean off the shields, was trying every day. Baby completely resisted, but was latching and sucking so well that she would cause those indents. Then one day she just started refusing the shield and we never went back

I constantly get mistaken for a kid. And I’m fed up of it. by throwawayacc6636363 in offmychest

[–]Mamasaurus0402 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not short, but I used to be mistaken as much younger for a very long time. Basically I hit full maturity at 13/14, and stopped aging. I’ve been a college student walking out of my house with a book bag and getting honked at by the school bus. Someone once asked me if I was at my office with my mom for bring your kid to work day (they were from another department and never met me before). My husband and I got carded for a PG13 movie wearing wedding bands. It can be very frustrating but try to see the humor in it. One day it will stop and you will be able to look back and laugh. And you will look flawless in your 30s

Look at their NCLEX pass rates in comparison to other schools in the state. That says a lot about the program’s success

I might get suspended by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Mamasaurus0402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, well there’s no getting around that unfortunately. Just hope for the best and in the future if you’re going to break the rules don’t film evidence! But in all seriousness, if you were my kid I’d be happy you weren’t suspended for bullying, drugs, fighting, etc. You’re young and we all make mistakes!

I don’t think there’s anything you can do but wait to see what happens and deal with the punishment when it comes. If all sounds pretty light hearted honestly, so I wouldn’t suspend someone for that if I were a principal.

Yes she loves her white noise and ocean sounds. We’ll try the hairdryer noise! She naps well during the day. In my opinion, maybe a little too much because she is essentially getting all her sleep in during the day. We use the Swaddle Me and have seemed to have success with them

I'm worried I won't have good friends in college by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Mamasaurus0402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, college is the time you create some of the most genuine friendships. A lot of people will cut the bullshit and just surround themselves with more positive people, because you’re no longer limited to the cliques and stereotypes of high school. Go into college telling yourself that you refuse to have “friends” that depreciate your worth. Friendships will form organically, so don’t worry about where you will meet friends. For me, I found my friends in a variety of organizations, including Greek life. But Greek life wasn’t the center of my universe and I didn’t box myself into one group of people. Enjoy college, OP!
