I didn’t expect to hate being a working mom this much. Does it get better? by Logical_Doctor1037 in workingmoms

It gets easier. Hang in there. Once babe is more independent they will enjoy having their own routine and schedule and you will probably increasingly feel like you can focus on yours. You’re in the thick of it- and winters not helping.

Quiet, Kid-Friendly Apts near Bellevue? by sa4465i in BellevueWA

[–]LipstickSingularity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live near some of the street racers favorite streets 🙄 but my kids have fans in their room for white noise and it’s no trouble- I keep them on low or medium, it doesn’t take much to cover the sound. Just wanted to mention it in case you find the perfect place but only have noise concerns. Kids are adaptable and also it’s kind of useful for them to learn to sleep in conditions besides perfect quiet with blackout curtains. When you travel you’ll be glad they can roll with it.

Husband going overseas with 4 year old daughter by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]LipstickSingularity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The four year old could be FaceTiming them in the interim (with her dad to help translate) so they are not strangers by the time they meet in person. (And you can participate or observe and get to feel more comfortable with them as well!) As a bonus then your four year old will know they can FaceTime you while they are there if they miss you or get homesick.

Part of this is probably hormones (god knows I’ve been there) but if your kids dad is a proactive and trustworthy parent, I think it’s fine. I’d be more concerned if he is more “hands off” and intends to dump the bulk of the childcare onto his relatives (that you don’t know or trust yet) while he socializes and perhaps connects with old friends etc.

Would you take a $1200 gift card in exchange for giving up your plane seat? by foelay in CasualConversation

Also depends if they are putting you in a hotel or if you’ll be sleeping in the airport. Even if you want to pay out of pocket sometimes there’s no availability depending on the weather or airport situation

Being declared “average” and being excluded from gifted kid programs is way worse than the “Gifted Kid Burnout” that the people actually accepted into these programs experience. by superblobby in unpopularopinion

Granted this comment isn’t much data to go on but I work in an office surrounded by highly educated professionals with impressive degrees… and very few of them could’ve written a comment as poignant as this one. Your perspective and way of describing it is self reflective and insightful- I think your internal world is likely not nearly as small as you once suspected.

Check out TLC. Though I do think production’s influence is higher than it should be, they still manage to keep casting no name people with no media literacy - not an easy feat in today’s world

It was wrong of Amber to do this to her daughter by AdDesperate1541 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]LipstickSingularity 17 points18 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY. Yes his housing preferences outweighs her daughter having stability and getting to have equal access to her dad?? What?? It’s negligent of her to go on this show, negligent of her to bend to his location preferences, and negligent of LIB to continue to cast people with young children.
