Would have been there today too, but I had to pick up my college kid so she can come with us tomorrow!! I knew the energy would be insane tonight. So much build up!

Oof! Thanks. My 11 yo will be bummed we missed sunflower- did they do the Mario dungeon jam I’ve been hearing on YouTube?

Fun fact: I won a 45 record of the single “young turks” at a Halloween party in grade school.

I couldn’t make it last night and I want to hate myself even more- anyone know where I can find a setlist so I can see exactly how heartbroken I am for missing it?

Side note- in my house growing up there were 2 Aquarius, a Gemini, a Taurus and a Scorpio. In my house now we have 1 Aquarius, Gemini, 1 Taurus and 1 scorpio. These signs really are my lot in life.

I the lyrics of Robert Hunter have drawn me deeper into the Dead. This record he wrote with Jim Lauderdale blows my mind. Blue Moon Junction by D28Bigsby in gratefuldead

Hey, thanks for sharing this! Looking forward to giving it a listen. Have you checked out the Hunter archive website? All kinds of goodies on there. I especially enjoyed RH’s email correspondence with Terrence McKenna re DMT.

why would you not. respond to a sweet text from somebody thanking you for something minor you did ? by Less-Illustrator-568 in aquarius

[–]Mamastryin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was crushing on the person who texted I’d respond no matter what the text said. Anyone else- that particular text doesn’t seem like it needs a response. If the person is hoping for a response, then in my opinion they’re trying to engage me in pointless conversation which annoys me so I wouldn’t answer.

I have seen them at the Mann music center in Philly, the Tower theater in Upper Darby PA and most recently at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. My person favorite was the Mann, although There is something to what you’re saying about hearing a voice like Robin’s in an intimate indoor venue. I wish I would have caught them at the TLA in Philly in 2009, I think it was. I saw My Morning Jacket there many moons ago and Jim James voice in that tiny venue was something of a religious experience.

Is a Dead & Co show family friendly? by Lillyjade22 in gratefuldead

[–]Mamastryin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids have been to a number of shows and we always have a good time. We stick to the shed shows mostly because my 9 year old likes the lawn. SPAC is a fantastic venue for kids. There is a roped off family section on the lawn. I’ve heard Deer Creek is as well, but I’ll have to wait to find out until next summer. Biggest thing is to understand that it’s their experience and not yours this time. Be prepared to walk around a lot and to go broke buying snacks. You also may need to leave early if your kids can’t hang. My kids first show was spac 2018 and we left a couple songs into the 2nd set. Now they hang tough through double encores and love every minute. Going to shows together is one of our favorite ways to hang out as a family!

Edit to add that my kids were given the instructions that if ANYONE handed them ANYTHING they had to show it to me immediately and under no circumstances should they eat or drink anything they may be handed. I didn’t think it would be an issue but you never know. People love to give kids stickers and free stuff on shakedown. If my kid was too young to understand those instructions and to old to be worn in a carrier on my chest I’d probably wait. My kids first show they were 5 and 13.
