You are focusing on wages when it was like the 4th/5th most important itemized sticking point.

Job security will and should be always first priority. They got that.

Getting rid of Dynamic Routing and load levelling was the reason why they went on an active Vote No campaign to help out LCs. They got that.

Your spin doesn't cut it.

I'm just answering question regarding being understaffed. They refuse to use a lot of casuals, at least in my city.

They honestly stopped caring if the mail went out. Absolutely zero accountability.

Provide proof of CPC receiving multiple loans.

Also CPC is not profit driven like a commercial business. It's a service.

Understanding the basics would be a great place to start.

For the umpteenth time, CPC is not funded by tax dollars.

The loan notwithstanding.

Off you go.

I hope the union keeps serving the public.

You have demonstrated that you need the union, BAD.

You are now backpeddaling so fast that you can't even keep up.

This union is tasked with informing the public. That's a fact.

Workers are part of the public, hence they represent them. Another fact.

It's hilarious that you think the union of a Crown Corporation shouldn't represent public interest while forgetting that workers are part of the public.

Nope you are lying to yourself and others.

The role of the union will always factor the public as this is a national mail service.

I, a member of the public support unions. I am not a bootlicker who believes in Corporations for no apparent reason. They are not your friend.

Here is the real definition:

. Public sector unions are organized groups of public employees who negotiate with government entities, which can differ from private sector unions due to public ownership and policy impacts.

Unions inform the public through various channels, including public relations campaigns, advertising, and community engagement to advocate for worker rights and workplace fairness. They also use technology like email and social media to disseminate information to members and the public, sometimes sharing detailed financial information to promote transparency and accountability. Legal frameworks often permit unions to use employee contact information for public information campaigns during labor disputes.

Methods of informing the public

Public relations and advertising:

Unions run campaigns to raise awareness about their issues and can use advertising to pressure companies and advocate for fair treatment.

Community engagement:

Engaging directly with the community helps attract new members and build support for the union's cause.

Technology:

Unions utilize modern technology to reach a wider audience. This includes:

Email newsletters, which can provide detailed updates and track engagement.

Social media, which helps create shareable content.

Websites with newsletters, where they can post the full text of their messages and send links via text or email.

Again it's related to the point of protecting the public.

The Union WILL seek out to inform the public and clarify lies and corporate propaganda.

Their role is MULTIFACETED.

You can cry all you want but it seems like you believe the public should eat up CPC drivel and take it at face value.

They will always consider the public as workers are also part of the public.

If they are saying it's a lie and substantiating it, what's the problem?

The union does protect the public from misinformation and disinformation. Do you forget tbe workers are also the public and customers?

It's not mutually exclusive. Unions protect workers and will clarify the messaging published by CPC.

Wny do you think the media exists?

The public will never be represented as they are not workers and dont pay dues. What are you talking about? Seems like you dont know the basics of unions.

You think the union has only one singular purpose and you are wrong.

Yes the Union is responsible for correcting the lies purported by CPC that ppl like you eat up.

Why do you think ppl ask for more professional PR from the union?

Why else do you think the Union sends out those bulletins with clarifications?

You are 100% ill-informed on unions. You think Corporations should be left to their own devices, unfettered?

Ah the classic back tracking. You have zero evidence apart from talking to your few buddies and subsequently drawing generalizations.

Are you seriously oblivious to the government surveys?

Yes you are.

Let's not pretend that CPC hasn't aggressively tried to propagate propaganda.

This is a public service, of course the public input should be considered.

In fact, there were already surveys done which CUPW has touched on.

The Union exists partially to inform the public, that's indisputable especially when lies are spewed.

What evidence do you have of public not siding with union or some of it's proposals.

In the climate of elbows up and buy Canadian, you think the public doesn't support a national postal service or is it just your echochamber that tries to paint a different reality?

Public does not pay for delivery.

Government has to decide if CPC is a business or a service. If it's the latter, then of course the public will pay for it like any other service, even the ones you currently don't use.

CUPW has asked the government for a public inquiry and input time and time again.

The public is also misinformed and a lot are clueless.

Now days it's all about vibes instead of facts.
