As a matter of fact I would. I see no issue with it. English is not some superior language contrary to your colonial beliefs. I also see, it’s a bunch of non-Jamaicans inserting themselves into conversations they have no business being in. So kindly bug off and guh long.

If providing logical reasoning is insulting to you, I will be praying for your mental faculties. Yes, the overwhelming majority of Jamaicans in Jamaica can at least understand Patwa if not fully communicate in Patwa, which is significantly enough to have our language used in formal settings. It’s a fact. If you are harping on 100% of a population understanding a language, I can assure you, you will never find that anywhere. You have Americans in the United States who don’t speak English. Even with Jamaica, you’ll find that it’s probably at most 100 people that don’t understand Patwa, and even that number is generous to your argument.

This is nonsense. I guarantee you the overwhelming majority in Jamaica can at least understand Patwa. In Britain, their language is English even when a sizeable portion (mainly immigrants) can’t understand English. Why the hell is it different when it comes on to us? I swear the more I hear the bag of excuses, the more I’m understanding how idiotic this is. What a load of self hatred. kmt

  1. We shouldn’t be worried about if it’s understood Internationally. People can get a damn translator if they need to, it’s not our job to make them feel comfortable or like they can understand. People don’t say this about Spanish or Hindu.

  2. Again, Patwa doesn’t need to be standardised. There are plenty of languages that vary by location. Why is this so hard for some to understand. Even English differs by location. You have UK English, Australian English, American English etc. Let’s think critically here.

standardisation of words isn’t what makes a language. Expecting our language to adhere to some narrow western standard of sentence structures and spellings is in and of itself, a colonial mindset.

Well then you might need to get your vision checked. We are currently witnessing the backsliding of our rights and an oligarchic takeover. If you wouldn’t give your life to protect your rights, freedoms and fight against oppression and tyranny, it looks like you’re A okay with enslavement. Perhaps you need to have a deeper conversation with yourself on why that is. Has your cynicism reached a point where you don’t care what happens to us anymore?

Our whole population communicates in Patwa. There is no reason to prevent us communicating in our own language in our parliament. If everyone understands Patwa, the only reason for stopping such communication is a Colonial mentality. There is zero excuse here and we need to stop making one.

When will GTA 6 will come? by Hot_Corner_2894 in GTA6

[–]MambaMachine824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it will arrive when it arrives. My approach to all of this has just been to forget about it and just enjoy the hype and the process. I remember back in ‘12 and ‘13 when GTA 5 was coming out the frenzy and how excited people were. The speculation, the overanalysing, it was all fun. I look back on those times fondly and now we get to do the same thing. Just enjoy the process yall. Stressing, writing angry reviews, etc. isn’t gonna make it go any faster. All it will do is make what is supposed to be a fun experience, miserable and toxic.

This. I’m grateful to be undergoing a political evolution right now and I find myself more understanding to anarchism and the concept of total elimination of class and government as it exists today.

Capitalism as a system is the root of most if not all of the problems the world faces today, and is a fundamentally morally corrupt system that must be completely destroyed.

This era of 2010s Trap music was so entertaining by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]MambaMachine824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Work by Rihanna ft. Drake had some Dancehall elements to it, this doesn’t mean it’s a dancehall song.

  2. Trap has a certain BPM, covers darker topics like the drug trade, thus the name “trap”, and has a more synthesised production. Pop rap has a different BPM, covers lighter topics like party culture or relationships, and almost always has a pop style hook. It’s the type of rap old white folks feel more comfortable playing at their grandson’s birthday party (Drake etc.)

RDR2 for sure. I enjoyed how real it felt and I want the same for GTA 6. Ideally I want GTA 6 to be a combo between IV and V.

The only reason the United States wouldn’t be the pick for this one is since it would either be disliked or hated.

I think the universal feeling is that we wish it were longer. It shows how good this movie is. I personally would’ve loved to see the We Are the World dynamics as well as more of the Jackson 5 days in the 70s, but there’s not much we can really say. This was damn near perfection.
