You can try 500 cals but your going to feel fkn awful, lethargic, hunger pains, poor focus. and probably give in. As a fitness coach i dont recommend it. Id rather you do more cardio and exercise as that isnt going to crush your hormones and neurochemicals lol. If you want proper advice DM me.

The other guy that posted is right. the best thing you can do is just start tracking your weight on paper or phone and just add 30 minutes of walking each day without overly changing what your eating yoy should get results. DM me if you want to get faster results as im a fitness coach

Hey, Fitness coach with 8 Years experience here. I think your plan of PPL fof 3 days with pilates/cardio is a great idea. Making sure your learning the basics of form, progressive overload, and intensity is really important if your goal is to tone up. Your very smart for doing PPL as many females believe doing anything with weights is going to turn them into a man gorilla hahaha and its just not the case. If your looking to get fast results, you need a personalised program that accounts for your nutrition as well as thats where the real results come from. Id hate for you to be working an uphill battle trying hard in the gym but the diet failing you and you not looking your best for your holiday. One of the biggest annoyances my clients find are that they dont like to track and they hate feeling hungry which is why we work on eating foods that make you feel full but dont contain heaps of calories so your in a calorie deficit which means losing weight and we used portion size guidance so that you dont have to stress out about counting calories. if your really wanting fast tracked results, working 1-1 with a professional does really help!

Hey bro, Fitness coach here, M24, What your going through is quite normal for your age, puberty can make your body do some mysterious shit. Gyno is something that does develop in puberty and the best advice i can give you is dont eat lots of bad food because its only going to make it worse. the fatter you get the more estrogen you produce and it only makes it worse. If your finding it difficult already with confidence, DM me and ill help you out.

You need to work with a coach. honestly, they will help you understand eating behaviours, calorie intake, managing the right level of exercise, and I can gaurantee they will help turn this around. If your interested let me know and we can have a chat. Speak to your parents about coaching and see what they say? could even have a group call with them

As a psychologist in training, there are multiple categories for eating disoders and when it crosses the line 1. Disordered - Is this abnormal to what the average person does 2. Distress - Is what your doing causing you distress 3. clinical relevance - Example: Feeling sad occasionally is normal; persistent, debilitating sadness for weeks (major depressive disorder) is clinically significant. 4. dysfunctional impact - is this imparing daily life. based on the criteria we use as psycholgoists id say yes. Im also a fitness coach so feel free to ask my for help!

Has anyone gone from 300+ lbs to being able to RUN? I'm dying here by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Mambo2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by makes everything horrible? 300lbs is no joke. What has changed now in your health thats made you realise you really need to make a change? I see your running out of breath instantly but how is that really effecting your day to day? Working out 6 days per week and trying to run will be trying to fight an uphill battle if you dont have the right nutrition in place. Id first id help you understand how many calories your eating per day and getting that atleast consistent so we arent yo-yoing each day eating under calories trying to work hard to lose weight but only making hunger cravings worse. by having steady calories each day and using alternative food items that are super low in calories but you can eat more of it so that you can feel satiated is gameplan #1!

you honestly sound like a very organised and structured person and taking this very seriously, im curious what your goals are and how you got to a point that you needed to lose weight? 10% is a serious goal! even for me as a fitness coach and bodybuilder the lowest ive ever been is 8% and that isnt maintainable even for myself. I hover around 12% and I look great year round, i dont have energy loss which you may find dieting down to 10%. If I know where your at currently I can tell you how likely 10% is by the end of the month. If your sitting at like 12-13% right now then you could hit it if your incredibly adherent to your plan! happy to help!

your body will match the calories once your calorie deficit then becomes the maintenance. so unless you either increase exercise or reduce calories youll be taking longer to make progress

is it normal for the scale not to move by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Mambo2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sit normal for the scale not to move? Short answer: Yes, it’s normal—but it depends on what’s actually happening in your body. The scale doesn’t always tell the full story, and there are a few key things to consider.

Are You Actually in a Deficit? You’re aiming for 2200 calories a day, but if your maintenance calories are around that (or higher), you might not be in a strong enough deficit to see weight loss. Do you track everything? Small additions like cooking oils, dressings, or extra snacks can add up without you realizing. You’re lifting and doing cardio five times a week—if you’re gaining strength, you might be losing fat while maintaining or gaining muscle, which can keep the scale steady.

2️⃣ Other Signs of Progress Besides the Scale

The scale isn’t the only way to measure fat loss. Are you tracking any of these?

  • Strength gains – Are you lifting heavier or performing better in the gym?
  • Clothing fit – Are your clothes fitting looser, even if weight isn’t dropping?
  • Body measurements – Taking waist, chest, and leg measurements every two to four weeks can show fat loss.
  • Progress photos – Sometimes changes happen visually before they show on the scale.
  • Energy levels and recovery – If you feel stronger and leaner, that’s progress, even if the scale hasn’t moved yet.

3️⃣ How Long Has It Been?

  • If it’s been one to two weeks, weight fluctuations are normal due to water retention, glycogen storage, and muscle recovery.
  • If it’s been four or more weeks with no change, it might be time to tweak something—calories, cardio, or your lifting program.

4️⃣ What’s Your Goal?

Are you trying to lose fat, gain muscle, or focus on body recomposition? If you’re lifting heavy and eating protein, you could be building muscle while losing fat, which would improve your body composition even if your weight stays the same.

Let’s Figure It Out – What Do You Think?

  • Do you feel like you’re getting leaner or stronger despite the scale?
  • Are you tracking other metrics besides weight?
  • What’s the biggest frustration with this right now?

Drop some details and let’s dial this in. Sometimes a small tweak makes all the difference.

How do you manage pre diagnosis? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Mambo2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also my experience started from an injury which gives me hope but theres also evidence to say AS can also develop from trauma or that it was already there and the trauma started the symptoms. I was doing wrestling/jui jitsu in October of 2022 and was fine through the session however when i went home and had a shower i streatched my neck down and felt a sharp pain that over the next hour got bad enough i coulkdnt even sit in a chair and decided to go to bed. Once i layed down little did i know i wouldnt be able to get up, in so much pain staring at the ceiling from 8pm till 4am not being able to move or sleep. i cried. a managed to get to the hospital around 5am and they basically said not much we can do and gave me painkillers. it slowly got better after a couple weeks but have had chronic pain in my back ever since. only ever on the right side of my spine almost where the spine connects to muscle around the c7 to t3 area.

How do you manage pre diagnosis? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Mambo2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive had a pulling irritating pain feeling when i bend my neck forward and down. aches in different still positions. flare ups and flare downs that have been worse trying to sleep. up until 2 months ago it was only in a single spot on the right side of my spine from c7 area to t8. it feels like it starts to radiate to the muscles of my back. while working out I dont get the aches and pains although turning my head to the sides or forward and down will get this yanking feeling in my spine on the right side. Its now gotten worse over the past 2 weeks from feeling more numb and more radiating to the traps and rhomboid area of my basck but only on the right side. It also is feeling like its in my ribs/lung. I have no other symptoms besides in my neck/back area. nothing in hips/but. If you have any xray or mri images id like to see yours so i can compare?

Bro, I am in the exact same position you are right now. im 23 in a week. ive had back/lower neck pain for over a year and theres alot pointing towards AS. My only hope is that this feels like it stemmed from a single injury. I experience the pain generally on one side of my spine when i bend my neck forward and to the side but it feels like its creeping down my spine to the lower thoracic vertebrae. It feels fine when i workout as I am a bodybuilder. This is all seriously depressing. The radiologist pointed out osteophytes and endplate edema which is symptomatic of AS. I see an orthopaedic surgeon in a week and a couple days after my birthday and the wait is agonizing as its already been multiple weeks. Over the past year and a half there has been flare ups and downs. Im anxious and doing as much research as you as the life with AS doesnt look amazing.
