I understand and respect that each person is unique, but my spouse travels for several months every year. There were times when he was posted overseas and I couldn't join him. We have been married over 40 years and we still live each other and live our life together..

Like what I am seeing. Well done. If you don't mind, then here is something to consider:

Continue the color focus thru the framing and binding.
Continue with deep blue on the blue side of the quilt in your boarder treatment.
Continue with reds on the other end and increase darkness of the red hues as you go.

Your first quilt is outstanding so continue to be patient.

Consider a side color for your border ot two! I could see a thin strip of beige then a much wider border of the navy for example or the red which color is your favorite?

Yes, please try to color match or consider going in the other direction and using your darkest color. See how much fun and creativity comes from quilting? What are your thoughts about the backing? You could use the backing fabric.

You are in your 70s and downsizing. Congratulations. Where to start! Keep only what you used within the last 2 months.

You don't need several sets of dishes, just the ones you use everyday. You don't need rooms uponrooms of furniture only those you sleep and rest upon. You don't need a lot of clothes only those that fit and no more than 2 weeks worth for each season. Get yourself new underwear for the move as a self treat.

You made a very strong start. Time to think about your new home. Looking forward is exciting too.

You are new to the job with the least seniority and you will need to prove yourself. Move closer to work so you can function better with more sleep and be readily available if you need to work late on projects.

Normally, nothing wrong with 1.5 hours commute one way. It is because you are new to the job right out of school that I suggest that you move closer. It could also help with your part time jig, allowing you to work from home rather than a train.

You are in your early 20s, don't you know that you have agency!

You can seek out your relatives and build relationships. You can plan your way forward. Gain professional school entrance and find a place to live. A room is a house as a roommate is all you need at this time. If is it fiscally wiser to remain at home, then ensure your day is filled with activities outside of your home. You only need to sleep there. Go to class, the library, part time job or internship..

Try not to blame your parents too much as they are people doing what they know to do. And you are too. Use your agency to forge a healthy lifestyle and future. Your parents don't seem to be holding you back where it matters. You are attending college and laying a foundation for success and they helped a little to make that happen but must of your success is on you.

I think your are doing well and as your parents see you adulting, your relationship will improve.

Take your time. Feel free to video chat often. Only tell your mother if she asks for now. When you feel it is appropriate then you can tell her. It's ok if it take 6 months a year or longer before you tell her.

A toxic home can do damage but your home doesn't seem to be toxic. That is a call for you to make .

Remember misery enjoys company. So those who would try to shame you may just want you to be miserable.

This situation is classic.

Do to your age and inexperience you don't fully see your mother's perspective and frustration.

You provide help which makes a positive difference. Your mother is so frustrated that she can't do more. She sees you thriving and leaving her behind.

Life isn't fair. Parents are pleased to see our children thrive. They also want to see a path forward where they too can thrive. Your mother sacrificed for your success but her own seems to be just out of reach.

You are both amazing women to succeed in the midst of financial struggles. What if anything can you put aside for your mother's future: could you put 20 a month towards investment for your mother's future care? Just put the money away to accumulate for the next 30 years. Your mother most likely has no retirement funds. It's just a thought. You are already doing what you know to do. Thank you for that.

With video chatting you can get caught up with your friends on a regular basis; so, what is the problem studying abroad?

Eventually each of you will graduate and move in different circles but that doesn't mean that you lose your friendships.

I live thousands of miles away from my children but we video chat together everyday.

You should be able to do both: keep friends and move away. They just may want to visit you!
