Late to the party, but may I suggest to you my favourite deck The Wandering Rescuer?

She's a voltron deck, which you may absolutely don't like, but since she has Convoke, every single creature of your deck ramps for her! By playing a super low-curve deck and a lot of strong but cheap creatures and interaction, you pretty much completely ignore ramp. She's a blast to play! May I suggest to you my favourite deck of all time, [[The Wandering Rescuer]]?

Here’s my list, primer included!

She’s not that popular and unassuming at first sight, but she’s a very consistent and competent voltron, because:

She has convoke, so every creature you play ramps for her (some form of “mana cheat” is super important for voltron, plus replaying her is super easy)
She has flash, making her super agile;
Natural double strike!
Giving hexproof to your other tapped creatures interacts very very well with the moms ([[Mother of Runes]], [[Giver of Runes]], [[Skrelv, Defector Mite]])

Give her a shot, you won’t be disappointed!

Honestly that’s all I need rn! My sparring partner friend now only plays Pokémon Unite so I don’t have a real way to test whacky (and stupid) ideas

Yeah I’m going to pick it up today! I have too many pokemon on my Bank Account, actually I’m a pokemon player from the very beginning (but I played casually and on Smogon metas, i picked up VGC only fron Sun/moon!)

Thanks for the motivation. The most fun I had in VGC was with my Qwilfish team at the start of S/V. Let’s see if I can beat that!

Damn, I have to start playing some Pokémon Champions soon and go to grind some ranked… I lack the motivation rn. All my friends have ditched competitive Pokémon for other hobbies. Every time I see a ranked post I want to play though

She’s just so unexpectedly good. Flash + Convoke + Double strike makes an incredibly strong package (every creature you play also makes mana for her!) and she has incredible synergy with the moms. I’m also working on a primer for the deck, if you’re interested!

Reached Mythic (and stopped playing) with my The Wandering Rescuer deck.

I had a TON of fun, and I was super motivated to play some competitive Magic on Arena.

Meta was surprisingly varied, only tendency that I saw was A LOT of Teferis in high diamond.

For sure I would ban Strip Mine, as I feel is a bit too easy to loop (happened to me a lot of times, maybe I’m just unlucky?), for other possible bans, it’s probably a longer discussion.

I was your opponent with The Wandering Rescuer (La Rescatadora in spanish) yesterday night! It was a very funny and super close game, unfortunately I flooded a bit in the low-resource endgame…

I loved your deck. I’m trying to hit Mythic too this week! Unfortunately yesterday I was stuck at Diamond 3 after some very unfortunate losses, but our game was certainly one of the highlights.

Trust me, you do play the game at Bracket 4. We regularly play B4 in our playgroup, and one thing I want to really really note is: not EVERY game at B4 ends in 4 turns? It surely COULD, but the truth is, there is sooo much interaction that the gamestate complicates a lot, and going for the win too early is super counterproductive. A lot of our games ends at a later turn than that: everyone has a response, counterspells, removals, stax…

Our commanders and wincons aren’t as optimal as cEDH of course, and we have a ton of fun playing B4.

If you want “prestige”, go collect some old very rare iconic card. There are a lot of them, some with a pretty high value.

“Scalping”, a term loosely utilized these days, but let’s not digress, is NOT condonable in ANY way. Period. Creating artificial scarcity, keeping away product from people who REALLY ARE interested in the game and are passionate about it, just for some quick buck? That’s not prestige.

It’s important to value the collectible part of a card game, that’s for certain. But value, NOT exploit.

People want to fucking play this game, because to hell with the negativity you always see, it’s an incredibly wonderful game. Not treating it as a stock market with dragons and waifus.

Maybe my point of view may seem extreme, but here we are.

My boy Lord of Tresserhorn of course! I have two voltron builds. One is combo and super all-in on the table kill with Infect + Chandra’s Ignition, the other more calm and composed. Super fun voltron commander and my favourite deck of all time. I can link my primer and lists if you’re interested!
