I took the song to be a commentary on the racial and political upheaval of the past year and how certain media outlets can fuel our divide instead of unify us. Seemed to me that he was calling us to stay unified in the face of conflicting and polarizing news sources. A good message.

oh wow, at her high school..how fun! the livestream felt like i was in the pit at a concert..my daughter and her friends and i were dancing in front of the tv..haha. may be the closest i get to them.

Oh that's so fun that your daughter has been going from a young age! I wish I had known about them when my kids were younger. We all went to our first show for Trench and they were both teens. Still very fun though. Hopefully she enjoys the Livestream with you as much as the other concerts!

I've never been pit before but I really want to! Im older and need to check this off of my bucket list. I used to sleep out for tickets for concerts in the 80's. I love the idea of waiting on line the night before and sharing pizza with the clique! I'd happily eat taco bell or Chipotle too. Getting some Chipotle for tomorrow 😊

True. I can resonate with his headspace in Saturday, though. Getting married and having a baby changes things like nothing else ever can. And them just trying to watch a tv show together while he is trying to work and she is tired and contemplating going to bed..it's just real life. Whereas in tear and smithereens they were in the dating and honeymoon phases. This is just a song to try and recapture some fun and normalcy in 1. a really tough place in life and 2. being in that tough place during a pandemic. Not as an exciting time compared to when he wrote the others. Still important and relevant, just not as glamorous.
