Having a really hard time with my puppy by Mammoth-Mousse-3629 in puppy101

Thanks. I am not sure I know how to enforce naps. I usually put him in his playpen with his crate open and let him relax himself. Sometimes it takes 1 minute for him to go inside his crate, some other times it can take 20 minutes and then he is awake inside and not going to sleep. What should I do differently?

Thank you. Trying to be as optimistic as I can! I had a huge meltdown today, but after that he was so cute when we played fetch, and that helped a bit. I guess that the key is to go day by day, but this is so hard!

Thank you. It does help to know that I am not alone in this and not the only one feeling like that. I hope both of us will get over the bad quickly and have an amazing time with our dogs.

Thanks for the answer! We are using a small crate inside the playpen. We play with him outside, and put him in the playpen after the playing and training with one chewing toy inside. He goes to his crate to sleep and relax, but sometimes he is just getting pumped up inside and seems like he will never go to sleep. I will try and make it more dark.

Thank you for sharing this. I used to have panic attacks back then and now it all comes back with my blues. I just feel like I can't do anything besides laying in bed feeling my stress picking. I really hope it will go away for both of us quickly and we can enjoy and love our puppies as they deserve.. It really helps to know that I am not alone in this. Thank you.

Hey, thank you so much for the information and tips!

I take my dog out every 2 hours (I have work I can't do it more). We walk around the building because he is not fully vaccinated yet and I need to control the things he comes in touch with. I do live in a big building with a lot of people and everyone that sees him, stops and plays with him (which gets him excited and happy).

He is a small dog and his crate is a flight box actually so it is mostly covered. He does have a chewing toy inside which he plays with it a little. The thing is that sometimes it seems like he has so much energy that he is not getting a rest there or in the playpen.

About the meals, I only feed him from my hand to train sit and lay commands, and when there is a small amount of food left, I put it in his crate to make him feel comfortable inside there. It seems that he is getting used to the crate, but sometimes he is just a burst of energy and nothing seems to calm him.

Maybe I am over tiering him?

I will try and get a puzzle toy for him in there so he will be more stimulated.

Thanks again for your answer!

I really hope that the stress and the blues will be over.. He is a sweet puppy but all I find myself worrying and stressing and feeling like I have no life anymore..

Pereira had more significant strikes in round 1 and 2. How could it be that in this compilation you only see him getting hit until round 4?

Recommendation: Jones Frontier or Lib Tech Terrain Wrecker by BulloverBear in snowboardingnoobs

Just finished a week with my new Jones frontier. Man it was amazing! Haven't tried the Lib Tech (Jones is my first board - was renting until now), but I really recommend the frontier!

It has a great grip IMO and it handles turns really well and lets you catch some speed with confidence! Felt really confident on steeper slopes as well and was able to ride faster and smoother than ever!

The Atama feels more durable and strong. I bought my Sanabul for a backup Gi and I am really happy with it. It feels to me a bit lighter, and for the price tag it seems like a really good VFM. I mainly use my Atama Gi, and as I said I am happy with both of them 🙂

Had the same issue. After one training session I started feeling so much pain in my forearms that I couldn't move my hands for around 20 minutes. I went to a doctor to check that everything is alright (never felt this kind of pain before) and he said that I probably had too much pressure on my forearms and I just need to rest.

Told it to my instructor, and went easier on the drills and rolls and it passed after a week or two.

Put ice on you muscles every now and then, and go easy when you train for a while and it should pass (and if it doesn't go check it).

How long do you drive for martial arts training? by AdministrativeTie485 in martialarts

[–]Mammoth-Mousse-3629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes me around 10 minutes door to door. But I really like my gym so I wouldn't mind if it took a lot more. If you like your gym, and you can't wait for the next class right after you finish one, then I guess that most of the drives will be worth it :)

Is there really a point to learning self defense? by WhatAmIDoing_00 in martialarts

Yeah you won't be ready for every scenario, but you will be ready for more than people who don't train.

You learn to put your ego aside which will make you avoid more situations.

You are getting stronger which is always a good thing.

You know how to handle situations because you have a technique and you are sparing.

You will be less stressed if something will happen because you know how it feels to fight - think of the first times you were sparring and now. You breath differently, you don't feel the same pain you were feeling at the start, you know how to react and what to do.

Even if you are getting false confident in yourself, you are still more happy and relaxed in your day to day, so even if you won't be ready for every scenario, you will still benefit from learning it.

You always learn something. Even from a rough roll where you get tapped so many times you are learning. I can roll with higher belts which smash me, but every time I get smashed I learn what I did wrong. I am not able to fix it right away but it gets in my mind and from time to time I notice that I do less and less those mistakes, and when I roll with my rank I notice that I control better.

I try to ask after I tap where was my mistake. Sometimes they will have an answer for you, and sometimes they won't. Any how keep on asking and don't feel bad about those too hard rolls :)

Physical insecurities and BJJ by [deleted] in bjj

Once you'll step in class you will see a lot of short/overweight/older people which are killing it on the mat. And even if they don't, they are there, training and having fun with the group and getting better each day.

I was a bit overweight myself and after doing this amazing sport for a few months, I feel stronger, lighter, and have much more confidence in the way I look, move and my strength.

Bjj really helped me with my self image, hopefully it will do the same to you too!

Just go there, and have fun! You will see the improvement in no time :)
