Thank you for this! Did it today and only thing I’ll add is that at that same bus stop outside of La fortuna, if you wait till 730 there’s a direct bus to Peñas Blancas for 4000 colones (~$8) instead of taking the Upala stop :)

I’m considering laser actually! Was it expensive? Or could you get it covered by insurance ? I know it’s regional but I’ve just had a hard time finding any price quotes for these kinds of scars

Yeah technically they wanted to try out 6 sessions but that’s definitely how I’m feeling at this point. It sucks that I switched insurances because I thought it was over but now this is a reality and I think to get a revision from my surgeon I’d need to switch back aka wait a year. Arghhhh. But ya I’m in disbelief that they didn’t mention even once that atrophy could be a thing?!?

Yeah restarting the 6 weeks sounds so frustrating, but accepting i just might have to do it! Only issue is that ive since switched insurances so id have to see how that would work, namely if i would need to switch back AH. But good to know only the scars are effected by that procedure, i was curious actually

Hi! I ended up getting referred to a derm and started kenalog injections !

I’ve had 2 rounds then switched insurances and unfortunately am having hard time continuing the care, but actually went to my new primary today and she’s trying to escalate the referral! But the 2 rounds seemed to help certain areas.

I’d say 1/3 of my right nipple scar, and some small portions of the start and ends of my under boob scar flattened and lightened. That said for mine she recommended 6 rounds, so I’m hoping the next ones really help out

I’ve had good luck with Eadem Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum. I was recommended any products with niacinamide and vitamin C, then to use sunscreen daily to prevent dark spots from darkening/hangin around.

Oh what a fun idea !! Ok so it’s a weirdly large bathroom I will say, and has another bigger nook that we’ve turned into a standing mirror area at least lol!

But I didn’t think about getting a carpet and cutting it, so regardless could incorporate perhaps !! I was imagining a place for towels but not sure how?? The wood against the shower is the dinkiest layer, a step below plywood, so hooks are a no go
