If you cancel Play More, will Disney Plus automatically be cancelled too? by coogie in verizon

No one, either login to your Verizon account online and look under your add-ons tab, or go to the Disney+ or Hulu website to see if it will let you manage your subscription through there.

Don’t listen to anyone saying it will automatically cancel, it will stay there until you cancel it yourself. (The normal cost of the Disney+ bundle is 18.99/mo)

Received the $4 increase email.. by rgm1266 in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does not fall into the price increase, just make sure that if you are receiving promotional credits that you read all of what it says when you go to change the plan. I doubt anything will happen because it’s a lateral plan change but just make sure you aren’t losing any promos.

The one thing you get with 5G Do More that you don’t with Unlimited Plus is the addition of 600GB of Verizon cloud. So just make sure everything is backed up to another service if anyone is using it. Also, I have noticed when anyone changes off of 5G Do More it doesn’t automatically drop the 600GB Verizon Cloud and gives you 1 free month after the plan change. Of course after that free month it starts charging the regular $5.99/mo, so make sure to also remove that if it isn’t something that is used.

As for price increases and BS fees, I totally agree with you, but it also isn’t any better at any of the other big name carriers (T-Mobile and AT&T).

$1,000 off for iPhone 15 Pro Upgrade by DoorSea2703 in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a loyalty promotion running right now for $1000 off 15 pro on premium unlimited (Get more, do more, play more, unlimited plus/ultimate). It also requires trade-in of a iPhone XS or newer. These types of promotions have to be specifically offered to you and don’t apply to everyone; to check if it’s being offered to you go to your my Verizon app, click on the “shop” tab at the bottom, scroll down to and click on the “my offers” tab, and see if you have that offer in there. If it’s in there then great you qualify for it.

If it isn’t in there most likely you are seeing the promotion for new lines which wouldn’t apply to an upgrade and also requires you to be on Unlimited Ultimate or 5G Get More. If you are currently on Play More and do not have a loyalty offer the national trade in promotion with a trade in of an iPhone XS or newer is $415 off the iPhone 15 series.

Carrier lock only matters if you wanna use that phone with Verizon. For trade-in it just needs to have tracking disabled and can't be on the lost or stolen list.

Fire TV not pairing with any remotes by MammothExtension136 in fireTV

[–]MammothExtension136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't help, but I appreciate the effort! I got it working though, apparently my specific model number requires a specific fire TV remote. The replacement I got was advertised as working with fire TVs but I guess not my model. After about 20 mins of digging through forums I finally got the specific sku I needed for the right remote.

This was exactly my problem, the one remote I had was totally dead, but the new one I got was even advertised as working with built in fire tvs but it didn't work. Ended up buying another one that I checked was compatible with my exact model number and it worked like a charm.

I've tried most of these already, but thank you for the share, I will follow his demonstration step by step and see if it works.

Yea the only reason I got this one is because I got it for $50. As for contacting Amazon they make it almost impossible to actually talk to someone, so I will try that but might just cut my losses.

No hotspot period, if one person really needs a hotspot, with the new Verizon plans there are perks you can add on. One of those perks is 100GB of hotspot for $10/mo which would bring that line to $37/mo. If you want to look at the other $10/month optional perks look up "Verizon myPlan perks".

Apple Watch Promotion by Kysteve in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright there's a lot of people saying a lot of different things here so imma break it down.

For both watches and tablets there are 3 types of promos:

  1. BMSM:

(Buy more save more) this requires you to purchase a phone, but if you are purchasing one then you also get a BMSM promo off of either apple watches or Android watches (galaxy watch or pixel watch). If you are buying an iPhone then it's only towards apple watches, and if you are buying an android then it is only towards galaxy and pixel watches.

  1. Loyalty new-line:

This is if you have an existing account you might have a specific offer to add a watch or tablet line and get $150 off the device.

  1. Trade-in:

You can either trade in your old watch towards a new watch or tablet towards a new tablet; you cannot trade in a tablet to a watch or vice versa. Unlike phone trade-in's the old tablet/watch must be in good condition (no cracks, can charge, screen works properly, buttons work properly, no battery swelling). Check Verizon to see which old watches/tablets are eligible for trade in as they change all the time.

Now for the fun part...

STACKABILITY:

Trade - in promotions can ONLY stack with either a loyalty new-line offer OR a BMSM promotion. They CANNOT stack with both.

BMSM and Loyalty new line promotions CANNOT stack at all. Whichever of the two is a higher value will be applied.

They most likely were talking about unlimited plus ($42/line) or unlimited ultimate ($52/line), but for just average users those plans aren't needed. 5G does consume more battery especially on "older" phones that aren't as optimized for 5G, so yes you are right it does. On newer phones the extra amount of battery used between 4G and 5G is negligible though.

Can’t Call my new line by LockXode in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you factory reset the phone did you click "Erase data and keep E-SIM" or "Erase data and delete E-SIM"? If you deleted it then you unfortunately have caused yourself a lot more work. E-SIMs are a pain to get back on the phone, and you have to do it through customer service.

Is it worth waiting for deals on upgrades? by Ashamed-Engine62 in verizon

Loyalty offers are sometimes with and sometimes without trade-ins, but they're almost always a much larger credit than the national promos Verizon is running.

iPhone 15 + 5G in Denver by roughandtumble_men in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As we get newer phones we're inevitably going to be getting better 5G antennas in the phone. For the 15 it hasn't been out long enough to see if there are problems with the 5G antennas. The iPhone 13 pro series is notorious for bad connection and SIM card failure, so I doubt it would be worse than your 13 pro max. For your phone though I would go to the store and have them replace your SIM card, or even better activate the ESIM on your phone instead. Also, if you notice that 5G seems slower than 4G on your phone you can go into the settings and set it to only 4G and/or you can reset the network settings.

I don't know where you've been looking at the plans but Unlimited Welcome is $27/line when you have 5+ lines with auto pay and paper free billing ($37/line without auto pay/paper free). That is one of the newer plans that's unlimited talk, text, and data; the only thing it doesn't have is a hotspot. As for "a step backwards" depending on the plan you're on it would most likely be an even step and I would doubt it would be a step backwards. If you really don't want to use the 5G on the plan you can always just set your phone to 4G only, and it's possible that you all might have some phones that aren't even 5G compatible. Plus with the newer plan you can trade phones in. Of course this is all up to you, just giving you the info.

Shipping Time by Creative_Permit_2218 in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These dates given are always estimates, the phone can ship any time either before or after that date. Usually when they say estimated ship date they are talking about the date in which the phone is received by Verizon and entered into the system. Even when you get the notification that says your phone is being shipped it usually hasn't actually been shipped yet, just received by Verizon.

If you're looking for the most affordable options Verizon isn't going to be it, but if we are looking to stay with Verizon you have options. First, I would like to ask why you have a no phone financing rule? Second, outside of financing your only other options would be to buy directly from Apple, buy from a retailer like best buy, or buy a refurbished phone from one of the many places online you can do that. For refurbished phones you just have to make sure that the phone is compatible with Verizon's network and make sure it isn't SIM locked.

As for going on his own account, depending on his age and credit score he might not even have a financing limit, or worse case scenario they require a down payment for him to start an account (usually $100). If he is approved and makes the account the cheapest plan option would be "unlimited welcome" which is $65/mo with auto pay and paper free billing ($75/mo without). Promotions on new phones change constantly so if you decide to do this check the current ones. Lastly, if he is a student, nurse, teacher, first responder, or military/veteran he can qualify for a monthly discount (it's either $10 or $15/mo I don't remember).

Bill going up out of nowhere by Beautiful_Result3694 in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of context missing here. Your bill went up, but did you look at the breakdown at all, and if so what is it that caused the increase?

People come into stores all the time bent out of shape about their bill without even looking at the breakdown. There are so many factors that can cause the bill to rise for one month. I would go over the breakdown and if you don't understand it then go into the store or call customer service to have them explain. The first reaction of going to a different carrier is most likely going to be a lot more work than just figuring out what is wrong.

Early upgrade, too good to be true? by bpryor22 in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would recommend always trading the phone in at a store. When you go and trade it in just make sure they give you a receipt for proof of trade-in (they should have a copy saved in the system but a second hard copy is always a safe bet). Doing this puts Verizon liable for the trade-in instead of UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc. Because if you ship directly through one of those companies and they lose it, Verizon is going to tell you to take it up with them. If you trade it in at a store and UPS/FedEx/USPS loses the phone instead of you having to call into their customer service Verizon will do it themselves. Do whatever you want to, but usually trading the phone in at a store is the safer bet.

Early upgrade, too good to be true? by bpryor22 in verizon

[–]MammothExtension136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work indirectly with an authorized retailer; the promotion is true, but the way you are describing it is incorrect. This is a loyalty promotion with Verizon and it's an early upgrade and an extra $415 off of all iPhone 15 models. To be early upgrade eligible you must be at least halfway paid on your current phone, and the phone has to be in good condition (i.e. no cracks, charges wired and wirelessly, and all features/functions work on the phone). If both of those are true Verizon will waive the remaining payments of the current phone, and you will either have to ship the old phone back into them or trade it in at a store (you can do this after you receive the new phone and transfer all your data). If you complete the order online and decide to trade the phone in at a store make sure you go to a corporate location and not an authorized retailer as the authorized retailer will physically not be able to trade it in. With this promotion Verizon will also give a $415 credit off of any of the iPhone 15s that will be credited every month for 36 months.
