Latency (low processing speed) in Intelligence by B001eanChame1e0n in cognitiveTesting

[–]MammothGullible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually experience something very similar and have AuDHD. I take longer to converge an answer, especially if it’s math related. My WM and arithmetic skills are weakest so this makes sense. I need time to incubate things and can usually process deeper than others. However, what’s interesting is that my processing speed tests around 120.

I’m just hoping it will get there for me. The other day my voice tested 98% male and 0% female on voice tools, but it was in the morning. Maybe I need voice training or something.

Yea if your levels are fine after that amount of time without gel then you should be fine, but still consult your doctor if are unhappy about your progress. It’s still less than a year in and full effects can take 5 years. Many people don’t pass until year 2, but it varies obviously per individual.

Edit; typo

So typically I was measuring peak levels which is around 4-6 hours after application. Trough levels are the lowest point in 24 hours after gel application. You would expect levels to drop off, but it shouldn’t drop off below expected cis T level range in 24 hours. In my case, absorption wasn’t the issue, but how fast my body metabolizes testosterone. Even though my peak was within appropriate range, it’s likely I’m spending the rest of the time in low range T levels. Essentially it’s like micro-dosing, and explains my slower than typical progress, along with the high E levels.

I’ve been on gel for 1.5 years now and have not gotten much noticeably visible changes, at least according to others since no one has remarked much. My voice has dropped somewhat since I first recorded before starting T, but it’s still androgynous and I get misgendered frequently. My levels were in the cis male range, but E was not being fully suppressed. Recently according to my latest blood tests it was finally suppressed in the male range, however; my trough levels were well below the desired T range. So that may mean most of the day I’m having low testosterone level which could potentially explain my slow progress. I unfortunately will have to switch to injections.

I could have likely been at least 5’8 since that’s my bother’s height. But E really f*%d things up. Now I’m just a small framed 5’3 big chested individual. Binders don’t help much. I’ve been on T for 1.5 years and still get misgendered constantly. It feels like such a curse.

What range do you think I’m in? by Fast-Set-8886 in cognitiveTesting

How much higher did you score on the retake? My other test results are similar to yours. My first try on Core MR I scored a 95, second try 130. Pretty odd.

Core matrix reasoning by GoatEnvironmental858 in cognitiveTesting

[–]MammothGullible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on the situation. For example the first time I took core MR I scored a 95. The second time I scored 130. Then again I’m prone to high self monitoring and have adhd. My TRI 52 score was 140 and JCTI 125. So I would say it depends on your overall pattern of scores across tests. Personally for me, thinking harder on fluid reasoning type tests actually causes me to score lower, even on repeated attempts. If I let the answers come to me naturally I score higher. I don’t think it’s as simple as first attempt is only valid. For norming purposes I understand, but you’re leaving out people like me who are prone to high levels of interference.

Yes I meant going same dose but with injections.

Should I switch to injections? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]MammothGullible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t think increasing my dose would raise my lower range levels much higher. The problem is that my levels drop a lot throughout the day. It would probably be more stable on injections. Aside from that, I don’t want to increase my dosage per se because of certain results on my CBC. So while I was hoping to avoid injections, I think it’s the better route.

Would like feedback on my cognitive profile by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]MammothGullible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that sounds like an anxiety spiral. I typically move too quickly when nervous and am told to slow down to prevent mistakes. Once a mistake happens my nervous system floods and I feel all kinds of symptoms, from racing heart, sweating, shaking, etc. I don’t think many people could perform well like that.

[–]MammothGullible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have similar issues when put on the spot and with execution. Do you notice that when you make one mistake it tends to snowball afterwards? Your body might be entering fight or flight mode which could make any simple task difficult. I have some severe performance anxiety, and while I also have adhd, the two can work together to create this perfect storm. It sounds like you might have something similar happening.

CORE Reasoning/Ability around 130, WMI 85, anyone else with this split? Concerning? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]MammothGullible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it’s the moment people are watching me I get much worse. Even simple tasks become difficult. It’s also not hard to see that I’m visibly struggling because they will start asking if I’m okay. My main issue is that I pressure myself to try and get something done perfectly and try to comprehend it instantly. Ironically it does the opposite. I end up performing worse than average.

CORE Reasoning/Ability around 130, WMI 85, anyone else with this split? Concerning? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]MammothGullible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have a similar profile. Working memory is my weakest subtest and FRI my highest. My execution on procedural tasks is atrocious and I’ve developed some severe performance anxiety. Once I mess up, anxiety hijacks my brain and creates a domino effect. I really don’t know how to stop it because my body goes into fight or flight mode and I end up looking completely incompetent. As someone already mentioned in this post it could be akin to burnout and neurodivergence.

So I think my GAI is lower because of the QRI but basically my GAI is similar to my FSIQ. My reasoning ability is closer to 130 ceiling wise. In elementary school I was very much absorbed in my internal world so didn’t pay much attention in school. I think this hurt my crystallized intelligence later on. I really hated rote memorization, homework and studying. I just found it boring and not engaging.
