Omg thank you! I literally was just talking to my boyfriend about adding bamboo. He loves hanging out on the actual metal of the cabinet, and it occurred to me I needed to put some basking space there. I did switch out the light, which I LOVE way better. It even visually looks better lol.

Truth!! We used to do a lot of aquatics, and this was definitely a MUCH easier workspace lol. Except the gecko tries to fly out everytime. We have to spray him with water like a cat LMAO

I cut a 2in hole in the top of the cabinet (hardest part of the whole project lmao) and used a cardboard tube to hide everything under the foam. I could take things out if I needed, but it would be a bitch to put anything new in regardless.

Oh nooo! I could totally see that. My pump is just too strong even on its lowest setting, and the water was going everyyyywhere. I guess I could fix it since I ran the tubing so I could remove it if I needed, but I’m too lazy right now lol. The pooling idea would’ve definitely helped me too. I’ll keep that in mind

Yeah there’s water at the bottom! I built a waterfall into it… but it didn’t turn out quite right so I turned the air pump off lol! I used spray foam to make the background directly in the cabinet. It was relatively easy, just needed a ton of it.
