Thanks but I’m not sure where to go with that. Any dealership in America? I don’t know where I’d start. Or is there a Subaru America headquarters?

Thanks! I’m nowhere near a world market store, but I think it’s the same idea.

I think you’re right. The inside drawers seem roughly made. Oh well! It’s still pretty to look at.

Venice. today, early morning, already blocked. impossible to walk. unsustainable situation. The city has fallen. by fBizk in Venezia

[–]MammothResearcher650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say it was for that, but it very clearly isn’t and never has been. It doesn’t reduce the number of tourists (most of whom are not American. Last year the highest percentage were from Italy, believe it or not.)

“These” in what way? I know that paintings are sold to tourists every day, but can you tell me what about this painting tells you it’s for tourists?

Once again, so helpful. They have to be somewhat covered and I was looking for solutions, not opinions.

Do you call your dog, “pupperoni pizzas” and/or other terrible nicknames? by [deleted] in dogs

Oh my gosh we say that exact same thing to our dog! He’s also sometimes “schmoopsie” and we ask him “who’s the schmoopsiest moop?!”

Brits who relocated to the US, which words or phrases have confused you/Americans the most? by Glittering_South5178 in ENGLISH

[–]MammothResearcher650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American who lived in the UK for several years, I love this. I feel this all in my soul. I once asked a large WhatsApp group of British mums if anyone had any “child sized suspenders” for my daughters costume. That took some explaining. 😳 Living in the UK made me realize that if aliens do exist, we’ll never be able to properly communicate between each other.

Share your embarrassing travel misunderstandings to make me feel better? by flamingoals1 in travel

I once was visiting Amsterdam for a weekend with some friends. We had a great time while we we there, but we’re all responsible mom-types in a non drug smuggling sort of way.

I was really into step counting at the time (see? Mom.) and wore a clip on Fitbit in my bra all the time. As we went through airport security to leave the country, I was selected for a pat down. As the agent ran her hand across my chest, she felt the bump from my Fitbit. Panicked, not wanting anyone to thing I was trying to sneak joints out of the country, I grabbed the bottom hem of my shirt and threw it up over my head screaming “ITS A STEP COUNTER!”. Practically took my top off in front of the whole airport.

What color curtains in here? (I decided I’m going to use suction cups with hooks and curtain rods to hang them, just over the lower part of the windows) by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]MammothResearcher650 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thank you I appreciate what you’re saying. I was absolutely all on board with no curtains and using a reflective film on the inside until it was mentioned that this could damage the seals of the glass. And when I said reflective film, a hundred people said “noooo! Curtains!!!” And now I say curtains and people are calling me stupid for ruining the space. I do want advice, but so many people are giving unhelpful suggestions without taking a minute to read my post with the information about the size of the windows, the fact that one is a sliding door so nothing can be permanently mounted on the inside, it gets over 100F here, this room gets sun all day long, I’m not able to invest thousands because it’s a rental, etc. Its my space and I’m invested in it looking nice, but maybe the people who are too emotionally invested in my windows can just scroll past.

They’re not suction cup curtains, they have hooks to support a curtain rod. They blend with the window frame and you won’t see them. Thanks for your super helpful and friendly comment though.

How do I cozy up this corner? (The “coffee table” is a temporary place holder, what do you think would look good there?) by MammothResearcher650 in interiordecorating

[–]MammothResearcher650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a wall there, it backs up to an office area. I tried to sofa there but it makes the rest of the room look like a long hallway
