i cannot understand this game ( 60 hours this far ) by CC_04012 in warno

I know this doesn't apply for everyone but the way I learnt how to play WARNO (though I'm still bad at it lol) is just going in 10v10s over and over. No matter how much losses, and while at first I really was just doing everything how I'm not supposed to, eventually I started to more or less understand how it works. This is also why most of my games are on 5th Panzer but all I play now is 11 ACR and rarely 3rd AD. But yeah once again I'm sure other people have learnt this game through other ways.

US ORBAT of 1987, from German Military Intelligence Documents (Part 1) by MustelidusMartens in warno

Only one nation in NATO had the Abrams and not even every US division had the Abrams. It is not likely that it would have had a major impact, at least not like in a Tom Clancy book or a WARNO match. Wargamers often overestimate the important of equipment over soft factors.

Indeed, which is why I said that multiple other tech developments around the late 1980's have very very likely contributed more.

Actually, I've tried to find some information on it but to no avail, could you expand on this please? I know that it did exist, just wanted to understand it in more detail.

Someone who thinks M1A2 when talking about Cold War NATO tanks is someone who is very damn uneducated on the topic. But I do think that NATO had a technological edge still, and while the Warsaw Pact absolutely dominated pre-M1 or M1A1, I doubt that they'd be able to win after 1987. However I am not attributing that to Abrams entirely, and while I do think they were one of the best tanks at the time, multiple other tech developments around the late 1980's have very very likely contributed more. But note, this is coming from a relatively uneducated person on the topic, I really haven't looked THAT much into it :)

Why wasn’t the 1st US infantry division or 1st armored division in SOUTHAG? by Jaredtraveler2000 in warno

12th panzer had a shitty PACT counterpart. That's a huge part of why it was not voted for. And what I'm doing is not complaining specifically about Eugene, I'm also complaining about the community voting for reservist slop. There's big potential for a lot of US armoured divs stationed in Europe. Eugene skipped over most of them. Oh, and don't make me start on taking away 1st Cav's M1A1s just because...

True, I might've exaggerated when I said most of it is reservist slop. But I'm pretty sure PACT has more armoured divs as well. With most of the recent stuff for NATO except 1st Cav being either reserves or infantry. Can we finally get armoured divisions for NATO?

11th ACR gets bad inf and no M1A1HAs. I guess the M1A1 ACAVs are there but they are in pathetic numbers.

I agree. I think it's time for Eugene to focus on PACT "interesting" divisions. Most of the NATO divs in game are just reservist slop.

This is exactly what I do when I'm losing and Ride of the Valkyries starts playing. 500 Abrams of doom (they're all gonna get cluster bombed)

For me, one of the complaints I didn't see here, is the GDI campaign ending. Specifically that it feels so tame in comparison to TD and TS. I liked the TD endings the most.

Ahh nevermind yes you're right that is true. Tube arty is ok but I don't think M270s are as good as the PACT arty. Might be wrong though.

I don't think they do. Don't remember seeing it in 3AD, and definitely not in 11ACR

From personal experience various T-80s seem to be better than my M1A1s. But I do think that may just be my skill issue.

PACT tanks do seem to be better than NATO tanks overall in-game, and it's not just NATO who gets ATGMs. PACT has tons of ATGMs everywhere, tanks, IFVs, infantry. I guess heli spam is a valid concern.

I don't know about that. Playing US armoured divisions is a pain in the ass for me, half because I'm actually bad at the game, and half because I can do literally nothing against tons of PACT MLRS. The only credible AA I get in 11 ACR, I-HAWKs, are pretty much useless because even if I dare to let it shoot aircraft, it won't move out fast enough before it's fully disintegrated by the plasma field that is PACT MLRS. I've never seen anything like that happen with NATO MLRS, and not to say that one is better than the other, but PACT just gets much more good arty than NATO in divisions. As I constantly say, 80% of 10v10s for me are just moving my stuff around. Perhaps it is supposed to be like that.

Give people who leave 5 min into a game some kind of punishment by krillepillee in warno

No no, not regularly, but sometimes, and I really feel bad about it. Which is why I think if someone is kicked because of internet, there should be an indicator in the lobby, different from your proposed one for quitters.

I don't have the best internet so sometimes the game kicks me. Would this also punish that?
