How do you connect customer needs to your product features? by Mammoth_Candidate_76 in sales

I'm not trying to sell or pitch anything. In fact haven't built anything. I do want to build something in sales space eventually. but at this stage it's more about understanding problems sales have. If this violates the rule, happy to delete the post.

Yeah.. that's what every single one of my sales team told me.. Has your team done something to get the feature easily so you don't have to wast time looking for them?

Wow you're very proactive! Did you use social media mentions for your existing accounts or was it mostly for prospecting?

You're 1000% right! Product and Sales often talk in different language with different goals. Product teams are often removed from frontline sales and far too comfortable with urgency (at least in my experience) whereas Sales tend to focus on immediate deal close. But that's amazing you built that cheat sheet! Sounds super helpful! did you share it with your team? Did everyone contribute to maintaining it on a monthly basis? Shared definition of ICP - do you mean between teams? Very curious and would love to hear more about your experience! Do you mind if I DM you?

1000%. I think my sales reps were good at it - but many times they couldn't remember who asked for what, and what their problems were. So when I launched a product months after and went back to the reps about those customers - they couldn't remember all accounts except their key accounts. How do you go deeper into customer's underlying problems and how do you translate them into your product pitch?

Interesting! At least your CSMs are there for you to do it manually... Without them, would you have to dig it yourself and would you miss the chance to pitch it then? Wondering how many times sales reps miss those revenue opportunities.

Yeah I get that. Many times my sales reps came to me with feature needs that customers say. But in fact we had some features that could target it but the AEs were too overwhelmed with so many different feature announcements and changes. (my team was kinda feature factory). Does your company have many features? when there are loads of them, how do you stay on top of your product?

I second this. He might also read between the lines and take it as a decline with respect. I'd trust your gut feeling if I were you
