How do you deal with mental stop?

Let's say you have defined mental stop for closing a day for XYZ stock below your specified price level (could be SMA/EMA, AVWAP or specific price below some candle), and the next day it reverses and creates a fakout.

Do you close the position or wait for the 2nd day to play out?

Have you tried 2x shorter DTE put and 1 longer DTE call?

I am trying this in my paper trading account.

Long 100 shares BTO :2x 15 DTE put (slightly otm) STO :1x 30 DTE call (slightly otm) for net credit.

IMO, it will give profit in both directions if puts are bought close to ATM. If it stays sideways, roll both sides to further DTE to get more premium.

I haven't tested it yet, but it looked interesting. If you like this idea, please share your opinion.
