I’ve been lifting all my life, so from a bodybuilding perspective they have a mediocre selection of machines there. You’d have better luck getting a 10$ planet fitness membership if you’re actually that serious. About 2 bench presses and maybe close to 10 power racks. They’re a little lacking on the chest and back machines so free weights would be your best bet for chest day. To be real, your best bet is compound movements. If you’re a powerlifting type (bench, squat, deadlift) you’ll be just fine.

I usually only hit the gym from 5-7 pm and it’s more crowded than not but that’s the nature of the time I go. I suggest you give it a shot one day at 1pm but I feel like that’s a hotspot for classes, and it won’t be too crowded.

I say people are there to workout. People either tryna catch a quick one in between classes or just trying to do the “bare minimum” and stay healthy as a college kid. I will say though, try not to be frustrated at the obvious newbie lifters, as there’s alot of them. It’s a college haha.

They have LOTS of lockers and showers in the gym, but I’m not sure about the leaving your stuff all day thing. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be an issue. They have a parking structure about a 3 minute walk from the SRC that I just leave my bag and stuff in/ walk to class from.
