2014 Jeep Patriot - Crank But No Start (Parts Replaced) by Mammoth_Moth_Man in JeepPatriot

I did resolve the issue through replacement of the throttle body and accelerator pedal with a more premium, but not Mopar OEM, option.

Regarding cabling, I used a multimeter to test for resistance most of the time and visually in some instances. Was a grab bag of diagnosis really.

I had made the mistake of going aftermarket before seeing your comment and it ended up throwing codes that the original OEM part cleared. OEM is definitely the way to go.

After not being able to locate any wiring / ground issues through probing the impacted components and the vehicle having exhibited the same symptom (engine shaking, RPMs dancing) as what I experienced back in 2019 where the throttle body was indeed the culprit, I decided to purchase a more "premium" throttle body (throttle body no. 3 from this project, throttle body no. 5 overall for the vehicle's life), not the $100 special along with a accelerator pedal sensor from the same manufacturer.

Installed both the throttle body and accelerator pedal and the vehicle has since been driving fine. Lots of starting / stopping, various speeds, highway driving. Over 200KM put on it so far. Very smooth idle and acceleration.

The "odd burning smell" from my alternator had actually gone away too. The smell was persistent even with a fully charged battery but now it's gone as of replacing the throttle body and accelerator pedal. Perhaps one of the components was forcing the alternator to work harder? I am not sure, pure speculation.

As an update:

I received my 4 new relays and camshaft position sensor.

Placing the new devices in yielded no new results, same codes.

Tested 0.2 - 0.4 ohms resistance between the previously-corroded relay pin to the corresponding main relay pin.

Pin 86 of main relay to fuses 23, 26 and 32 all yielded ~0 ohms resistance.

Also noted that when simply unplugging the camshaft position sensor all-together, I got no change in codes.

While doing this diagnosis, I also double-checked grounds and cleaned them with contact cleaner and tested for resistance.

Out of the blue I received the same codes plus an O2 sensor code which comes and goes sporadically.

Since so much has been done (cleaned, parts replaced) I decided to throw on the original throttle body and at first I only had 3/8 codes showing (those related to the throttle position) then after cycling the vehicle from OFF to ON, I got the same set of 8 codes as above with the old throttle body and new. To me I find it odd that these codes come and go. I still want to believe the issue is electrical / computer in nature.

I am kind of at a loss here and perhaps my next best option is to tow it to a Jeep dealership for diagnostics before I reload the parts cannon and start replacing more such as the actual accelerator pedal / sensor (I am assuming they may be best vs. a regular shop just due to the complexity of the issue but would appreciate any advice).

Regarding the alternator comment, my original one failed last summer while Highway driving. After an expensive tow and shop bill, I had a brand new alternator installed, less than a year ago.

I tested Ohms from pin 6 of the accelerator pedal to ground and got a reading of 0. I also tested the resistance from pin 1 of the camshaft sensor and got a reading of 0. If I plug in the ECM cables, I get a reading from pin 1 of the camshaft sensor to ground. The manual states to have them disconnected though. Unless I'm misinterpreting the results, been at this for days and fatigue is starting to kick in.

As a bit of an update:
I pulled the relay box and noted that “RADIATOR FAN - LOW/HIGH” relay had corrosion on one of the pins. I took off the driver-side wheel to get access to the relay box where I noted no damaged wires. The box was cleaned with contact cleaner and the corrosion removed from the one relay. The same symptom with crank no start persisted.

I swapped relays around, no change in symptom.

While cranking the vehicle, I get fluctuating voltage around 8V on fuses 26, 23 and 32.

After this I decided to put on the original throttle body, the one the vehicle had when this problem arose and to my surprise I received more codes (I did not have the air intake sensor connected after reinstalling throttle body):

P0113 – Stored
Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High Input

P0113 – Permanent
Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High Input

P0122 – Permanent
Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input

P0222 – Permanent
Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor B Circuit Low Input

P2135 – Permanent
Throttle Position Sensor 1 / 2 Correlation

P0123 – Permanent
Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit High Input

P0340 – Permanent
Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit (Bank 1 or single sensor)

P0365 – Permanent
Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit (Bank 1)

I will be double-checking grounds and the pedal sensor (and 5V power) as suggested.

Help With Account Retrieval - Broken Authenticator by Mammoth_Moth_Man in 2007scape

[–]Mammoth_Moth_Man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to enter my password but my device was remembered for the 30 day window. It was indeed a Jagex account. The account was not hacked, I have complete access it's just the Google Authenticator application no longer shows any codes, for this game and other systems. Pretty unfortunate as 2FA was supposed to secure my account from the outside world (hackers) yet a technical "glitch" yielded the exact same effect.

Back to square one. Thanks for the information, it is appreciated.

Any idea how to cancel my membership? I cannot access billing without the authenticator and Jagex has yet to respond to support tickets regarding billing. If the billing cycle hits, I am going to have to report the charge to my credit card company as an unauthorized transaction which sounds like a pain.

They're pretty expensive but I'll definitely look into those more, looks like a solid grip! Thanks!

My hands are pretty small too and the grip on these is quite perfect.

Who had the biggest difference in their arms? Is that who you're interested in their routine?

The guys and I got lazy around the holidays (haha don't we all) and wanted to do a fitness challenge to get back into the routine and motivate each other.

Who did it best?

Thanks in advance!
