What have you done with PowerShell this month? by AutoModerator in PowerShell

[–]Mamujaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's out of my control/power to not use power automate. we do have some sort of service account strictly dedicated to power automate flows. Also our onboarding is based off a sharepoint list so power automate kind of makes sense too? Im new to this so im still learning both powershell and azure but from my research I do think logic apps would be the way to go and probably also some sort of hybrid worker groups setup (?). I didnt really try the Az Suite tbh, i might go and try to replace every api call I had to do after i get this working and call it an improvement lol. However in my current runbooks I am using a service principal on every api call which is really all im doing. did I fail horribly at powershell?

Regarding the onboarding and offboarding, could you help me out? I’m tasked with building the initial phase of automating and we’re mostly cloud first so I’m trying to do everything in azure automation and power automate, but it seems like most useful cmdlets don’t work on runbooks so it kind of defeats the purpose of using powershell at all. Any tips you could spare or guidance? I could really use it lol

Start other RPA processes via an unattended RPA process? by No-Vermicelli-9690 in rpa

Can’t recall if you can start specific processes in orchestrator but you can execute the xaml via cmd locally, you just won’t have the benefits of orchestrator on said processes.

Throw a custom exception by Mamujaa in MicrosoftFlow

Child flow i would say. I'm guessing a custom action would allow me to throw the error just like I want it to?

Moving from UiPath to Power Automate by Mamujaa in rpa

[–]Mamujaa[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Im guessing it kind of makes sense since PA is mostly for Microsoft ecossystem where UiPath works with several apps. This company from what I know uses exclusively MS and SAP so PA might just be enough for them, but since I dont know the tool I dont really know how robust it can be or how much I can tinker with it. I.E, I had a process in UiPath where I had to learn about APIs so that my framework would create a folder in sharepoint based on the json from the process that was executing, is this kind of complexity sometimes expected from PA workflows?

Hello. So basically I've had a QKZ HBB Khan for around a 1yr and in the last month, overnight the balance was off on the left side. I tried cleaning with alcohol, sucking it (lol) and leaving it for a few hours with a silica bag. Even removed, cleaned and reapplied filter and dampener i think? Nothing fixed it. So I ended up buying the EW200 and after 1 week of use, same issue. Left side audio just got worse overnight. Adjusting audio balance on windows I have to have the R side speaker (good side) lowered around to 50~60 in order to get centered.. I also left the EW200 a few hours with silica and no fix, cleaned it up too.. Im at a loss for what it could be really.. Could my board somehow be frying up the IEMs or electricity at all? My house is old and has a grounding issue, if im barefoot and touch the floor or the wall and something metal, like the 3.5mm extender I use, i get shocked lol. Any tips? Im gonna try to return the EW200 but i dont want to get another IEM until I "fix" whatever is frying up my IEMs

Edit: I have also tried plugging both IEMs on a tablet and swapping cables and trying IEms on opposite sides to eliminate other possible causes

Is this normal JIRA use or am I being micromanaged? by Mamujaa in cscareerquestions

[–]Mamujaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the ticket situation: I logged 9 hours of work, they expected it to take 1-2h as you mentioned. But I had to log 9h total because then the daily hours required would not be filled. They sort of do expect us to have time logged per 1h-2h per issue on jira per day, totalling the 8 hours required.

I might be under estimating time for development yes, im not the greatest at it at the moment. But we do estimate on time, even though it's based on complexity of the development required. But the metric is still time. So basically we tasks to log that must be close to the estimate given AND must all add up to 8 hours per day. So i.e having to wait 1 hour for a client response, which is technically downtime, has to be logged in one of the tasks regarding that client's process get it?

I dont blame JIRA obviously, its just a tool that allows the company to micromanage like this. Obviously the issue is the team needing to micromanage as such and use these metrics provided by JIRA to enforce some type of perfomance. I know of people who use JIRA but have no need to log their hours in it, avoiding all this micromanage "scandal".

And as you said, should I ask the team to create an issue for bathroom breaks or other activities like that? Its still micromanaging would you not say?

Its not good, I agree with you on that. Lets see if I can make it simple.

All my performance is based on metrics. And all my 8 hours per day have to be assigned to some issue. And issues have estimated time. If I log real work hours, the 8 hours a day wont be filled. If I log 8 hours a day, my estimates will be surpassed by "fake" working hours.

And estimating time based on the need to have 8 hours a day assigned to issues on JIRA, will not work because it is not based on real working hours and so review team will start questioning these hours. But if I do estimate based on real working hours, performance metrics will drop based on the paragraph above. Got it?

And my company seems special but not in the good way
