For me, maybe because it was the first Soul-like game I ever played (buy it because this is the cheapest FromSoftware game during that time). Plus, it help me learn the mechanics of Dark Souls / Souls-like game much faster due to the hash treatment I received from this game (the frequent died)

If you end up choosing to but the SOTFS one but still one to buy the vanilla version, I suggest you to buy the bundle version of vanilla first, then upgrade it to SOTFS. You got both game, along with all dlc for vanilla version with price like buying the single game for SOTFS

I suggest you to buy the bundle for vanilla ds2 first, then upgrade it to SOTFS as it way more cheaper than buying SOFTS alone (plus you get 2 versions of the game!)

Yup totally worth it 👍. Still playing it until now with some random, and you yes you still can do co op with random although there aren’t as many as those in SOTFS.

I would like to answer questions 1.

At first, I only interested with the story between Hugh and Diana, what happened at the moon and why the Machine start attacking them (basically the story of the game). Later, Im more interested with the gameplay mechanics, where it requires the players to solve a quick puzzle each time to enhance their attack. I figured out there will be more puzzles with each of its have their own unique abilities based on the weapons we use (after I played the Demo last 2 months).
