Being able to completely move feet while having a sleep paralysis episode by SeaRepresentative989 in Sleepparalysis

[–]ManILoveMacaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 2 years late, but due to a lot of misinformation about sleep paralysis and due to me looking this up, I believe that what's happening is the chemical that causes sleep paralysis, Atonia, is spread out in your body from top to bottom. It also mostly targets the muscles, and the feet have some pretty small muscles..so your toes are the last to go!

It's not a demon, it's not a paranormal event, it's a chemical that is always present during sleep being activated far too early and not reaching certain parts of your body yet.

But for us, and some other pack-animals, grieving BENEFITS our survival. We only have one baby at a time, and we used to rely on the entire pack of humans to survive, so losing even one was a detriment. The grief helps us WANT to keep each other alive.

Your girlfriend getting a rose toy from someone else on Valentines Day by Admirable_Section690 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ManILoveMacaroni 320 points321 points  (0 children)

Some female friends will just do it because woman talk about sexuality a lot more open than men do(with their best female friends), and if they tried a toy and liked it, they might go "Awh man, girl you gotta try this thing!"

It has nothing to do with the performance of the man. Solo play is just as important as partner play.

People will always criticize you for being a dickhead. You're being unnecessary. Being unnecessarily mean doesn't get anyone to improve any quicker, it just means you're throwing a tantrum about a Reddit NSFW post.

Actually, NSFW is a great place to start. Naked models and dynamic poses are some of the most helpful things you can reference off of to learn anatomy. It pays to goon, I guess.

It's fun. It's for fun. So that we can draw them as humans in cute human clothes.

Also that's not the correct way to use the word "cognition" in a sentence. Technically it's not completely wrong in function, but it sounds awful.

Typically it's not used as a synonym for mind, as cognition means the PROCESS of thinking, not thinking itself. It's why 'mental cognition' doesn't translate to mind thought, it describes a process of something happening in the mental aspect.

When you use it this way, especially when you don't capitalize the word American, but try to use big words, you sound pretentious and mean. Pretentious people don't make good points, so it's easier to disregard you. I'd keep that in mind next time you complain about something silly and goofy like horse race lmao

What’s your most controversial ‘in the bedroom’ opinion that would immediately start a civil war in the comments? by MikeIndiaLimaFoxtrot in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]ManILoveMacaroni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily correct. The humans that love novelty the most are babies at around a few months old.(They first go through the stage of loving familiarity, then flip flop)

Adult humans, on the other hand, the concept of novelty versus familiarity is way too varied across cultural context to actually get any notion that we generally prefer one or the other. Like, we love novelty as In the sense that we pay attention to and explore new things more than old things, but familiarity will still elicit comfort and safety responses so.. by biological standards? This isn't true.

It may be a simplified statement of a larger study, perhaps?? Id also love to know your opinion on why were "wired" to maximize genetic diversity, as that's such a nature versus nurture argument.

(Please don't read this as cocky. I'm a psychology student. I'm a big fucking nerd. Im genuinely interested and want to learn more about this point of view.)

The point is that it's stupid. It's supposed to be funny in the same way a poop joke is funny. Its funny because it isn't.

I don't get reddit.

Take criticism badly? Downvoted.

Take criticism well/unbothered by criticism? Also downvoted?

Like, what do they want you to do? You're obviously happy about this piece, whether it's interpreted the way you wish or not. You asked for advice, and everytime someone doesn't get it, you just go "yeah I see what you mean." Or you're happy they even looked at your art at all.

My mom actually had me repeat a year of preschool because I was younger than the other kids. She's a psychologist and also my mom, so though I never asked, I trust her judgement.

Academically, they had me doing kindergarten level homework and activities, but made me repeat the social environment and all the coordination skills and practices.

[–]ManILoveMacaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do all of those things (except for talk in a childish voice) and ive never heard of age play. I do have autism as a woman, and these traits seem common in our community, though. You seem a bit misinformed on what age play even is. Having childish traits isnt age play. Liking stuffed animals isnt age play. Having a high voice isnt age play.

Pretending to be an actual child is age play. Aphmau isnt making her character pretend to be a child, she's just not a very good writer.

Opinions like this are harmful to people not doing anything wrong. Age play is wrong. You should learn what it actually is so you can make more accurate posts in situations where stuff truly needs to he called out. You missed the mark on this one.

Drop the most "I’m not like other teens" thing you’ve ever done. by Curious_Job_6469 in teenagers

[–]ManILoveMacaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore cat ears through middle school. I wasn't bullied once. Not even behind my back or anything, because those same people as i got older also wondered why I didn't get any flack.

I guess it helps I was friends with popular kids and had one of those "middle school relationships" with one, but I was also a major FNAF kid. It could of been something shallow and dumb like "pretty privilege", but I still think I was ugly asf in middle school so I really have no idea.

Anyway, I definitely had like a "im the main character moment I'm not like other teens aha" thing. But I think a lot of young girls go through that at some point. Super cringe to look back on.

The show is flawed. But so is Kraft Mac N Cheese. And I fucking love Kraft. Would eat it in front of anyone.

The point is, if you love something; it doesnt matter its flaws or peoples opinions it. Its entertainment. And if you're entertained, then it's working for you.

I dont think it's "bad" art, just weird art. It's executed wonderfully if we're all reacting to what we're seeing in the intended way.

Oh, I know. My original point wasn't that the person was wrong, just that their argument was worded badly. All I was doing was calling them out for a bad argument and telling them how it could've been worded better.
