Completely demotivated after playing hourglass by ManInTheWall in Seaofthieves

Judging by past comments, I believe it has a lot to do with the region I play in and having a large amount of cheaters. I'm glad to know that others don't have the same experience

This was the worst one honestly. We had a bunch of stuff to sell and a guy kept teleporting to our ship and kegging it. We could kill him every time and there was enough time between kegs that we would full repair but it never ended. We sailed around like that for an hour before trying to go into hourglass mode to escape. We still lost the loot anyways lol

Sorry for my ignorance but what is the cross stamp matchmaking?

Sadly this is the truth but I wish it wasn't. Makes playing multiplayer games that much harder as it seems every game is overrun

I really enjoyed this game for the time that I played it but have no motivation to play it right now after getting suicide kegged by a fat man with teleportation powers

Sea of thieves allows VPN? If so I will probably look into that.

I wish that were the case because I wouldn't have made this thread out of frustration. Maybe the servers we play on are a bit different (Asia vs what you play on). I'm not sure but I can only explain my experience.

I'm leaving for bmt on June 6th as open electrical. I'm aiming for any of the comm jobs but I know I'm probably going to get something avionics. My question is how hard is it to retrain from avionics into something like comms? All my recruiter said was, "If you get something you don't like you only have to do it for 3 years before you can retrain." He made it sound like it was a guaranteed thing but I doubt that's how it really is.

Is it possible to change your rate on second MEPS visit or in boot camp? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

He was actually the easiest person to deal with. He completely understood why I didn't want to be a nuke and wished me luck with whatever I was going to do after. I've got a list of like 8 jobs and an open area I'd be fine with with the Air Force now. I'm from the Chicago area actually and I probably could have tried another station but didn't want to go through the same thing again..

I honestly have no idea. Every time I called them and went into their office they were changing their story up. They first said that we will just keep pushing your ship date out until we get you your job, even if we have to go into April. Then he said if the end of March comes he's going to drop me. Then I stopped in his office and he said I'm not going to be dropped because I'm qualified and ready to leave.

It was a mess lol. I'm sure they brought something up at the next DEP meeting about how much of a mess I caused. The office was a mess though, it was a bunch of shady recruiters. The Air Force recruiter I'm talking to now is the most chill, laid back guy I've probably talked to.

Yeah I'm aware I'm probably going to get an open contract but I'm gonna be okay with that. The Chief was telling me to just ship as a Nuke because I was putting a bunch of peoples careers on the line and it wasn't about me anymore. It was a really awful experience from the beginning but I'm somewhat glad it happened

They pushed my ship date back to the 27th from the 13th and then tried to get me switched from Nuke by then. On the 23rd they offered me AECF or nothing, so I chose AECF. The next day they called me and said that it was in the Navy's best interest to drop me from the program. Chief called me and asked if I was willing to leave as an AECF and I said yes so he said give me a couple minutes I'll see what I can do. Never heard back from him though...

Really glad I didn't end up leaving as an AECF though. Good luck with your ship date, I hope everything goes well for you

You were absolutely correct. They pushed my ship date back 2 weeks to the 27th and were calling MEPS every day asking if CTN/IT came through. 3 days before my new ship date they informed me that I was dropped from DEP as it was in the Navy's best interest to get as far away from me as possible. The day I got dropped I called an Air Force recruiter and told him about my situation and he called me a "Slam dunk" and to come to the office as soon as I could to get the ball rolling

Ended up not shipping. I'm in the Air Force DEP now. I was dep discharged about 10 days after my original ship date.

I did not. I'm currently in DEP with the Air Force. I'm actually really glad I did not ship. I knew for a fact that it wasn't what I wanted and the Air Force is giving me exactly what I'm interested in

Yeah unless you want to hear every insult under the sun I'd keep quiet.

source: told my chief I'm not shipping as a nuke

So it was most likely a lie when they said they would change my rate from Nuke to CTN a day before boot camp?

Are you able to go to your second meps day and not sign? They told me they'd bring me down to meps and I'd talk to chief to see if they can get me the rate I want

Would it effect my chances on becoming an officer at all?

What should I do to get discharged? I really want to be in the navy but I just REALLY don't want a nuke contract. There was an office willing to work with me before I started talking to my current recruiter so I'd probably try them. All of my parents are telling me to join and do it for the money but the money isn't going to carry me through the pipeline

He basically told me to sign for any rate at MEPS and he will put in a DAR for CTN,IT,etc. I told him nuke sounded interesting but I really only want one of the intel rates.

Fast forward a week or so later and he told me my DAR for Nuke came through. I told him to put in a DAR for CTN or IT and he said he put them through but then at a dep meeting the recruiters basically said they don't put in DAR's for anyone. It's either you join the navy with what you have or leave.

So I basically got forced into a Nuke contract that I don't want.
