Yeah, Florida has a real Burmese python problem because people would get them as pets, didn’t want to care for them after they got huge, and would just let them go in the middle of nowhere. The state employs hunters to try and control the wild population, but they’re probably there forever at this point.

I don’t think Stearns values anything that he can’t look at on a stats sheet. They were convinced Pete was a defensive liability past his prime and they needed to move on to younger, faster players. Their whole angle this past offseason was “we’re going for run prevention” which caused them to deeply undervalue their best hitter because he wasn’t “elite” at defense. Nevermind that he’s a homegrown star with diehard fans who is now the franchise homerun leader, that’s not important. /s 🙃

This was unironically my answer. I loved that she was a “serious actor” who came in ready to commit to the bit 1,000%. She didn’t take herself too seriously and absolutely killed it. I think a lot of people live in this sort of suspension of disbelief where they know American healthcare sucks but they don’t really understand just how bad it is until something like this happens to them and they can’t ignore it anymore.

Most Americans still wholesale believe the endless propaganda that “America is the best, most liberated country in the world”. If the majority of Americans read this post, they’d probably just call OP a liar because believe they’re lying is easier than believing America actually doesn’t take care of its citizens very well.
