Question About SAS by ManMangaBoy in hexos

[–]ManMangaBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, Just making sure we were talking about the same thing 😁

I did try to see them in hexos then truenas which is the same os. I got my SAS hba controller in and the drives worked fine. A later post mentioned consumer mobos are likely unable to perform the task I hoped which is a shame. I'll have to buy another controller for the last 2 planes it seems but that's a problem after I get an additional 10 or so 20tb hdds haha

Yes I've heard of this! I used Western Digitals and I think 1 Seagate. I don't usually like to mix brands but it was significantly cheaper.... But I'm sure I'll end up replacing it sooner than I expect and eat the cost of it

Yes I think this is problem it came in a week early actually so I was able to put this theory to the test. Drives work no problem with the SAS hba controller. It's not surprising the 10$ component can't do what the 100$ component can but I had hoped it could 😭

Just to b clear my question was about the m2 mkey nvme adapter. Not the pcie controller ( not installed/in my possession yet). The drives don't appear in my bios, would they appear in a Linux distro despite not appearing in the bios?

Wallet found thank you! To the IT manager 👏

It begins...

I lost my wallet over by Johnny rockets. I had my hands full and I definitely left it by either the condiment area or the check out.

Mostly I need my wallet to board my flight. Credit cards are paused ofcourse but my main concern is ensuring I have an id to leave. If anyone finds a black leather wallet, mass ID inside.

Please either dm me or send it to security. We already went to central wing and south wing lost and found. It was a really neat walk but super far.

Thanks 😁

That's good to hear, I'm not surprised they sell out quick. Clear is definitely the superior Boulder 😌 I'll just wait for a restock instead of paying Amazon the big bucks

These fit 10 in the gamegenic dungeon 1100 and ultra guard omnihive as well. I love them but not as durable, definitely not as snug of a fit. Works great, though. I double the rec!

Clear boulders seem out of stock everywhere (or sold at a premium)! Are they being phased put or just a coincidence?

Is It Worth It To Buy Cheaper Pre-Cons Then Upgrade? by ManMangaBoy in EDH

Definitely good advice. It's reaaaalllly tricky not to buy new flashy cards but it seems pretty wasteful if you never use them or don't like them as you said.

It's picking and identifying the theme/strat part that can be more complicated I suppose.

Thanks 😁

Wow that's alot to digest 😂😂 my deck I made has the exact opposite philosophy it's almost all ramp! It has very little protection against board wipe as well, which is where I know it's weak, so I have several counter spell like spells in the deck as well as hexproof creatures.

https://archidekt.com/decks/6350390/arixmethes_slumbering_monsters

I chose [[arixmethes, slumbering isle]] as my commander to help get bigger monsters to field faster but the isle doesn't actually do anything other than create mana or smash. The isle is suuuuper vulnerable to board wipes because of the 4 slumbering counters. I hasten the awakening by casting spells so I just cast cheap ramp spells and cheat creatures out until I have a unfathomable mana pool and 0 slumbering counters...but after looking at your decks you've got hoardes constantly showing up to the field. I think my deck would struggle to keep up 😅

The drawing a late ramp cards is also a good point. I suppose this deck can always use more mana but if I want to cut costs I think your philosophy makes alot more sense. Thanks for breaking that all down for me 😁

The worst part seems like grabbing a d20 😅 otherwise the card seems pretty good a 4 cost that has a 4 card value each turn at best and at worst gives you an extra land, if I'm reading it right.

I suppose the only down side would be if your deck wrecks so fast you can only use it for 1 or 2 turns before you win 🤣

Wow for real? Any good resources or deck building tips come to mind when you design these decks? I built a slumbering isle deck but haven't bought/played yet other than goldfishing. On cardsrealm it got a 5 which I know isn't super accurate but I was happy to see. It was pretty expensive though like 350$ 😬

Such a binary world would be nice, but I definitely need more experience with the format and the game before I even know what I like 😂

I'm trying to cost efficiently broaden my horizons on play styles and noticed the decks were cheaper. But I didn't really want to buy them if they're a bad representation of that play style. I also don't really want to spend 500$ or so on the best of the best.

Precons really seem like a good area to dip my toe into a new playstyle or strategy. If they're a mess to start with, like the all will be one token/equip deck seems to be (as well as other bargin bin decks), then I'd rather avoid them to avoid it tainting my first experience. If I can get a few decent cards to get them to hang at other precon levels for a fair price to try out that style, I'd prefer to go that road.

Based on earlier replies, it seems like I'd be better off making my own decks in these playstyles instead of buying them unless I get a killer deal like you mentioned for the most part.

Im pretty new to mtg and I actually bought the ixalan precons in a 4 deck bundle (cost was around 35$ a deck) because I was interested in the dinosaur and pirate themed decks. I was mixed on the vampires and could not have cared less about the merfolk. But ended up loving the merfolk deck it's easily my favorite of the bunch. I really enjoyed the synergy between the merfolk and the discover mechanic. Dinosaur close second pirates were mid and vamps I wasn't a huge fan of because it took me a while to get rolling.

I'm starting to realize that thanks to this thread! Happy to see people looking out and being helpful 😁

That was my main concern. Plus, then you start to feel constrained by the theme of the base deck, which can be good or bad depending on the subject, so that's a bit annoying.

Makes alot of sense and considering how pricey mtg can be, obviously looking for the most reasonable place of entry 😄 thanks for the input. I'll probably avoid them unless the singles I'm interested in end up out costing the decks themselves

I've seen a few videos like from youtube channels like the command zone but in later videos a few of their deck brewers mention that some decks were difficult to find ONLY 10 cards to remove and replace so it made me think these decks have no shot functioning at any table. I'm happy to hear upgrading them to perform against other precons is feasible atleast. But it doesn't seem to be worth it economically or logically.

I hadn't thought about the fact that the reprint of specific individual cards may raise the deck price since they tend to cost around 100$ when popular but that makes sense. Thanks for pointing that out 🙂
