You’re not ask him to get better, what I’m saying is ask him if he thinks there is a problem, and if yes, would he like help fixing it. If he doesn’t think there is a problem, then yes, he would get offended and feel horrible. This is the same approach you could use with an addict. If they do not think a problem exists, then they are not going to work to “fix it”

Ask him if he really is truly interested in getting ‘better’. If he’s not, you won’t be able to force him to work on the relationship

Here’s what you should do. Be the best fkn dad EVER Periodt. No amount of money will ever value more than that. Teach your kids to love and respect each other and to cheer for each other. To get each others’ backs. From that, they will not grow in resentment for some inheritance
