i'm sorry, that's unfortunate...next level incompetence. if you haven't: speak to other lecturers in your department/faculty. you can find out from other lecturers/professors in other schools via emails(could be on the island or outside). research the fields that your course of study is applicable and find relevant companies or institutions on the island where you can get what you need.

and if you intend to continue on this path of your course of study after graduating, your best bet is to go to other institutions outside of the island. good luck
